It's been odd - as I uploaded the track logs from this weeks wanderings, I found that more than half the streets I hadn't travelled before had already been done by Norky and Blackarrow. Great work guys. I intend to continue to thicken the residential roads in Tarring whenever I go there, but I'm going to move back to focusing on Chichester (where I live) 'cos you guys are obviously doing a great job with Worthing. May even have to head over to Bognor Regis and try and get a little more roads in there. Nothings happened there since I last did a batch about a month ago.

Regards, Bevis.

My first post here, I discovered the diary a few days ago.

So lets see what happened since then:

I did some improvements on the Rhine(de:Rhein) river between Bonn and Bad Honnef and - more important - added several Rhine areas between Bad Honnef and Koblenz and also between Koblenz and Oberwesel, so we have a continuous river now from the delta up to Karlsruhe.

I also added parts of the Kottenforst forest which is now almost complete in the area of Bonn, using Potlatch and its Yahoo! satellite images.
Adding forest/wood areas early in a map does'nt only look nicer, for me it's also a great help to get a good oversight of a larger area with less streets already mapped.

A Problem I see is that while Osmarender renders my forest/wood areas nicely, mapnik has serious problems with glades in forest areas as I do them.
It _always_ fails to realize which area is the actual forest and which is just a space left blank in between - this leads to forests that are not rendered with glades rendered as forests, for examples look west and east of the village Witterschlick near Bonn.

I wonder if there is a solution to this proble other than splitting forest areas?

Apart from mapping some secondary roads and residential areas in Bonn, I also managed to fix many Problems in the area using the JOSMLINT plugin for JOSM - its really much easier than staring at the maplint layer on the slippy map. :-)

By the way, I read in his diary entry that egore911 fixed the A61 around Ahrweiler. Thanks! That may have been (partly) my fault ;-).

Hello,

I was looking around for aerial pictures of my area because the yahoo-pictures ar enot usefull for my area.

I found highly detailed pictures of my province (Limburg) and also for another province (Oost-Vlaanderen). The link to he pictures for Limburg are here: http://www.limburg.be/giskaarten/frameset.html?../navigatielinks.html&../navigatie.html&index.html

GIS-Vlaanderen has aerial pictures of all the provinces I believe, but I prefer the ones from the site for my province specifically. They have more detail for where I looked (or seem to be clearer).

The nice thing about the pictures on the Liburg-site is the following text at the bottom of the page:

Gebruiksvoorwaarden (terms of usage):

* Digitale geografische gegevens hebben geen juridische waarde en kunnen in geen enkel geval beschouwd worden als officiële reproductie van originele en analoge juridische documenten.
--> The geograhpic data has no value in terms of the law.
* De kaarten hebben een zuiver informatieve en indicatieve waarde. Er zijn geen garanties wat de actualiteit, correctheid en volledigheid betreft.
--> No guarantuees regarding correctness and completeness (little les s nice, but I suppose ... they are quite ok). We have the source-tag in osm ...
* U hebt het recht de kaarten te consulteren en voor persoonlijk gebruik te downloaden. Voor reproductie is altijd voorafgaande toestemming vereist. Verdere informatie kan u bekomen via e-mail: gis@limburg.be.
---> (the nice thing) You have the right to consult the maps and to download them for personal use. For reproduction, you need aproval. For more info contaxt gis@limburg.be.

Hello,

my password-issue has been resolved. I can login again. Thanks to TomH for taking the time to help me.

For the interested people ... it was a bug in the http-authentication-parsing-code.

Thank you once again. I uploaded the data that was awaiting upload. So, the town Maasmechelen (Belgium) will shortly have more details.

Thank you and greetings,

Michel

Hello,

I requested it already on IRC, but I am posting it now on my userdiary in the hope to show some persons that there is a need for this ...

Since the migration to the new server (and maybe earlier ...), I can't login anymore to upload osm-data using josm (I tried multiple times). My password is wrong. However, I have a useraccount ..., but can't reset it. Some people on IRC (sorry don't know the names anymore) already assisted me by adding the account-reset-patch to the associated bug and submitting the patch in svn.

However, I'm already waiting quite some time for this patch to become active.

So, I'm now already waiting quite some time to upload osmdata-changes, but I can't, because I don't know my password anymore/change in server/can't reset password.

So, hereby I would like to ask to make the reset-account-patch in svn active please. This way I can submit changes to the mapdata again hoepfully. They are waiting on my computer in an osm-file :).

Thank you and greetings,

Michel
