Using turtle graphics to map buildings | You should remember that a square house in real life won't necessarily appear as square in either latlong (epsg:4326, the josm default) nor spherical mercator (epsg:900913/3857, rendering default). So worry more about getting the corners in the right real places! |

300.000 users come clother | Registered users, that is. The number of accounts that have contributed to the map is around 10% last time I had the stats. |
Copyright on marine boundaries | I think the coordinates will be fine to use - I can't see anyone suggesting you would need a contract, license or similar to use the information provided in statue law. Just remember to convert them from OSGB36 to WGS84! |

Footpaths just missing roads | emj: Not quite. The situation in the UK is that each road has only one reference number for a particular stretch, whereas it's quite common for one stretch of road or path to belong to multiple cycle routes. Relations are more effective for the latter, and especially if you want to add extra information to the route relation such as the people who create that route (operator). Cycle route mapping was quite extensive before relations became used for this. As for the original question, yes, the footpaths are supposed to connect to the road if they do so in real life. |

Who monitors OpenStreetBugs? | It's a good point, and I have the same issue. There's been work undertaken to tie in openstreetbugs into the main website, but it needs someone to pick up the project and finish it off. http://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/tree/openstreetbugs Also, potlatch2 now has vector backgrounds, which are the clickable version of normal raster map backgrounds. I'm planning on making OSB available as an option within the editor, so that mappers can see what errors are recorded for the area that they are working on. |
London Cycle Superhighways | They would be lcns I reckon - part of the London Cycle Network - but from what I've heard, they are little more than intermittant cycle lanes so I'd be happy just seeing the cycle lanes added appropriately :-) |
OpenStreetMap "Geolocate me" user script | Looks good. If you want to see it considered for the front page of osm.org you should consider filing an enhancement request at http://trac.openstreetmap.org (component 'website', or even better you can git clone the rails_port project and work on the code directly. |
JOSM Dialogs | Not a very constructive attitude, it has to be said. If you would like to suggest an enhancement to JOSM, then you can file a ticket at http://josm.openstreetmap.de/newticket to bring it to everyone else's attention. |
London Cycle Hire scheme locations | Great! I'd like to make sure all of the locations end up in OSM, without importing the planning permission list. I think it's important that everyone else realises that a) planning permission has been refused for some of the sites b) in some places work was started and then postponed due to unexpected things lurking under the road and c) some won't be finished any time soon anyway! Fancy putting a page up on the wiki to help coordinate? |

being bold | Automation of corrections is quite rightly frowned apon. If there is any task in OSM that seems like there's not enough people to complete by hand, then the answer is to recruit more people. I think TomH is being a little pessimistic on this, but certainly the few bots that we have need to be reigned in. |
Automated Edits/Code of Conduct | Yeah, I believe the problem is now people are fixing the duplicate nodes automatically. While some of them should be joined close to 100% of the time (edges of TIGER counties being one of them) others (such as NHD and TIGER nodes being coincident) obviously shouldn't. Nakor, you should contact whoever is doing this and ask them to stop, if not take it to the mailing lists. There are sanctions available such as blocks to make people running bots pause and reconsider. |
gwtosm can now display roads | No, there's no test case system for rendering. |
Further Adventures in Hillshading | Watch out with what you do with the CGIAR dataset, since it can't be combined with OSM data. What you're doing with overlays is OK, but it's a dead-end path if you try doing anything more interesting. |
Icons for data browser pages | Good work. Any more similar ideas up your sleeves? |
Ohio county boundaries merged | Good work on the TIGER fixup - it's a long, hard and inglorious task! |
Things I Learned Today About Mapnik | I don't think that's correct - but you need to be careful on how the gap between dashes compares to the width of the line. So if you have a width of 2px, you'll need a gap between strokes of 5px to see a 1px gap. Each little dash gets rounded, and the round ends aren't counted as being part of the length of the stroke. |
Help collecting OSM videos | I'm not sure that having one page for "all videos" is a good idea - neither would having one page for "all pictures". However, there are tons of videos linked to from the various SOTM pages, e.g. osm.wiki/State_Of_The_Map_2008 |

Texas completed... | Good work! |
Keepright, Routing vs Printing | Don't be discouraged by the poor quality of the data - just get on and fix your area and encourage others to do the same! There's no magic pill to sort out all the routing problems, but there's no reason to not fix the problems at hand either. I spent an ungodly amount of time fixing interstates when I started the 250 cities project - hundreds and hundreds of hours. When other people saw the amount of work being done, they got stuck in too. Make the area that you're interested in an exemplar of how to do things, and other people will raise things to that standard. But when everyone accepts the current state of play, then few people are motivated to improve things. |

Haiti GeoEye are moving? | It might be the guys who are serving the imagery improving their rectification. |
