My comments are independent of Robin Paulson's. I'm a database person, and have done OSM imports (including controversial ones). I'm not an enemy of imports, but an advocate for good ones.

Make that "ref:LINZ"

30444326 over 10 years ago

Could that be collapsed down to a single key?

LINZ:ref=mainland-exotic_poly-123128379

The current one does not have a primary key or object reference to the LINZ dataset.

The toilets of node 28926698 are marked as both flush and pitlatrine. Which is it?

FYI: Updating tagging of node osm.org/node/3235042318 to newer tagging...

Is osm.org/node/2590878664 a walk up toilet (amenity=toilets) or a drive up place for dumping a motorhome tank (amenity=sanitary_dump_station)?

Note the extra "t" in "chemical_toilett". Fixing.

Gone; what is node 1222683318 ? It is in the middle of the forest with no roads... is a toilet... a dump station?

Added waterway=fuel to the delta western fuel dock you mapped.

First attempt at migrating dump station tagging without loosing information or making up information.

And tags like LINZ:dataset=mainland are not tags useful to OSM mappers or consumers. Discussion about tags like that would be the result of creating an import plan in advance, and showing it around.

30444326 over 10 years ago

The source tag ideally should point to the discussion.

Andy are the water taps in this view really waterway=water_point (bulk water for boats), or something else. Are they drinking fountains or water taps?

Is there an wiki description somewhere for this import?

The bridge osm.org/way/166901355 is unclear. It does not show on the Marina map. Is it a drawbridge? Is there a height restriction?

30417756 over 10 years ago

Done and thanks. Note chandlery chandler, ship_chandlery and have about equal usage. There's also seamark:small_craft_facility:category=chandler.

The shop=outdoor came from node osm.org/node/817390324/history during a merge. I'll fix it.

No I don't, and I've seen a variety of approaches used, including "addr:housenumber" for each pitch (see 36.48988, -121.148099).

I'm sure that having each one be a caravan_site is unattractive, and would want to find a better way.

30140750 over 10 years ago

For the campground in this edit, I think each individual parking spot is a "pitch", where the overall site is a "caravan_site".

What does this dump station look like? Is it a basin or hole in the ground for a hose?
