There are some 800 others that are "not rendered" in the same way. It's better to fix the problem for the 800 rather than keep 1 node mapped differently.

"don't tag for the rendering" is often repeated, and for some good reasons.

How about instead pushing for proper rendering support. See the ticket here: https://github.com/gravitystorm/openstreetmap-carto/issues/1507

I will update osm.org/node/3309711661 to the new tagging.

If the RV sewage holding tank station is private, then it needs a private access tag as well. We don't want it showing up on a list of nearby facilities.

I'm still unclear: is this a place I can drive my motorhome and empty my sewage holding tanks?

Also if there is a card system, then why not tag barrier=gate+access=private?

I remove the name tag, and the tag "user_defined_other sanitary_dump_station" from the dump station you mapped.

The access road to the dump station is marked as private: is the station also private?
Also could you remove the name tag, as only objects with a real name should have one?

Welcome to open street map and thanks for mapping! This is a "changeset comment": people in the community can review all edits made, and make comments.

The roundabout on Cousland Road appears stacked over the old roundabount. This could cause routing problems. Could you check this out?

I agree with tyos here: copyright does not extend to facts. The names of the buildings are facts. A compilation can be copyrighted, but not the fact itself.

Another possibility is to tag "disused:shop=hairdresser" which preserves the history until the next tenant comes along.

What are the empty nodes like "osm.org/node/3088162899/history" for?

Thanks for the contribution! Note here the "name" tag should not be used (the tag defines what it is). If you know the owner, an "operator" tag is great so people know who to contact in case of maintenance issues. A "source" tag can be used to define where this data came from (e.g. "tweet with picture from a local user").

drinking_water=no usually means that. There has been tagging mailing list talk about difference between "no developed water but a stream nearby" and "no water at all".

31062222 over 10 years ago

Helping with search is no good, since there may be a station closer to the user without a name tag.

Sounds like this one should be fee=yes also.

31062222 over 10 years ago

Thanks. Note that "name" is not needed if it repeats the main tag. If it has a real name like "name=Jake's Toilet Stop" that's fine.

Is there also an amenity=caravan_site here for overnight parking?

For osm.org/way/232981998 you wrote drinking_water=none . Should that be drinking_water=no ?

For osm.org/node/3070227461 the tagging is now osm.wiki/FR:Toilet_Holding_Tank_Disposal

What is osm.org/node/1347711437/history ? A trash can for dog waste? A motorhome dump? Could you clarify?

Dear Kryptonit: what is this? It's tagged a standalone bicycle tool stand, but seems to be the size of a building? Does it have a name or website?
