67525553 | about 6 years ago | Oh, OK. I just wanted to make sure that you didn’t delete any of the infrastructure in Campa Turzii that I have added over the last two years. By the way, I began adding all of the house numbers for Campia Turzii, but I had to stop because I no longer live in Romania. It would be great if someone could continue my project. |
66872102 | about 6 years ago | The street name in your changeset here is missing. The name tag contains only "Strada". Could you please fill in the missing name? |
67525553 | about 6 years ago | Hello. Could you please explain what this edit entailed? What sidewalks did you delete and why were they unnecessary? |
64858758 | about 6 years ago | Hi Cat. Please don’t add free camping sites to OSM unless they are clearly marked as campsites. (I just cycled past a completely unmarked site in Ukraine that you added.) These kind of details can go on e.g. the iOverlander app to help others, but OSM isn’t really a suitable place for them. |
32536845 | about 6 years ago | OK, this is exactly why I asked: OSM cannot copy from other maps like that unless the copyright situation is 100% clear. Unless you can provide more bibliographic data and argue that the material is truly public domain, these additions will have to be reverted. |
32536845 | about 6 years ago | So you copied this from a paper map? Can you please give me the bibliographic data for the paper map? |
48338956 | about 6 years ago | Also, please do not add generic names like "Magazin mixt"/"Vegyesbolt". That information is already communicated by shop=convenience. If you do not know the exact name of the shop, then leave the name= tag blank. Tools like Streetcomplete, which prompt mappers to determine the exact names of POIs, rely on the name= tag being blank. |
48338956 | about 6 years ago | Please do not use building=commercial for these kinds of buildings. The correct tagging is building=retail. ("Commercial" in English does not mean the same thing as comercială in Romanian and other European languges). |
32536845 | about 6 years ago | What is the source for the name "Paunescu" for this farmland (and the names for the other landuse=farmland nearby)? |
66816898 | over 6 years ago | Hello fellow cyclist. Please do not tag village food shops as supermarkets (even if, as often in Chile, they call themselves supermarkets). Instead, the tag shop=convenience should be used. |
67241735 | over 6 years ago | Please do not create nodes with shop=mobile_phone to tell people where they can get mobile phone signals. That is not what this tag is for. |
69041276 | over 6 years ago | I don’t think it is a good idea to add covered=yes tags for the service roads going under petrol station roofs. The tags building=roof and layer=1 on the petrol station already avoids any highway–building collisions. |
64368929 | over 6 years ago | It is not just my opinion, it is the recommended OSM practice. So, please do not put generic names into the name= field in future. Otherwise I will have to bring your edits to the attention of the Data Working Group. |
64368929 | over 6 years ago | "Exchange" is likely not the name of the shop (I will check this next time I walk in this area) but simply the words shown to denote what type of shop it is it. Its legally registered name is probably there on the sign (or on a paper over the door) in smaller text. The problem is that tools like StreetComplete, which prompt mappers to fill in the exact name of shops, rely on the name= tag being empty. If you put a generic name like "Minimarket" or "Exchange", you end up hiding that POI from mappers using StreetComplete, and therefore the shop’s real name may never be filled in. > Also there are different tag for different languages. Yes, there are. But writing e.g. name:en=Exchange or name:en=Minimarket would have been just as inappropriate here. |
64368929 | over 6 years ago | The same is true of "Exchange" for a money-exchange place. Just leave the name blank unless you know the exact name. |
64368929 | over 6 years ago | Please do not add generic names like "Minimarket" to convenience stores. This information is already communicated by the shop=convenience tag. Only add a name if it is the exact name of that one shop. |
20688362 | over 6 years ago | This edit added denomination=orthodox to a large number of churches that are not Orthodox, e.g. they are Greek Catholic, or Reformed, or Lutheran, or Unitarian. Orthodoxy is not the only religion in Romania! Could you please go back and fix your mistakes? If you generate a list of churches involved in this edit, then you can easily detect some of the churches where your edit is wrong, because they are now tagged with names like "Biserica reformată", "Biserica greco-catolică", etc. |
69761554 | over 6 years ago | Could you please give a source for the names of the streets that you are adding? The only source you provide is Bing/Digital Globe/Mapbox, but those sources do not have street names that OSM can use. |
67677371 | over 6 years ago | Please do note write the words "under construction" in a name tag when you add a construction site. The tag landuse=construction already specifies that it is an area under construction and there is no need for additional text (unless it is the exact name of the real-estate development being construction). Also, OSM tags are generally supposed to be in the local language, and so it does not look appropriate for the map of Albania’s capital city to have this English text "under construction" everywhere. |
67541861 | over 6 years ago | What is the source of the name "Strada Cotită" for this street? When I walked around Mihai Viteazu, I was unable to find any street sign for this street. |
