115953526 | over 3 years ago | Why did you place a barrier=gate directly on the highway=secondary at coordinates 52.5328166, 17.5630722? |
115673944 | over 3 years ago | My mistake, fixed in #115769947. |
83082038 | over 3 years ago | What is your source for pedestrian crossings in Gniezno (e.g. 52.5363003, 17.6222129)? No crossings are visible in Geoport or Mapillary imagery. |
115263724 | over 3 years ago | According to the OSM Wiki, junction=roundabout is only for ways without right-of-way. This rondo contains traffic signals at various points along it and is therefore a junction=circular. |
115176257 | over 3 years ago | My apologies. With regard to islands, it looks like we are both wrong. According to the OSM Wiki (footway=crossing), the island portion of crossings should have no footway= tag at all. That is, it should be neither footway=crossing nor footway=sidewalk. With regard to the two ends of the crossing, however, I still maintain that these should be footway=crossing, not footway=sidewalk. This is how it is normally mapped around the world, including in Poland. Not only are ways typically traced from their centre, but the way these have been mapped in Warsaw does not accurately describe the ways for the sake of routing engines (the major consumer of these tags). |
115176257 | over 3 years ago | A Warsaw mapper has mapped the island portion of crossings as crossing=sidewalk, but this is widely believed to be incorrect (as was recently discussed on Weekly OSM). footway=sidewalk is for ways that run parallel to associated streets. For crossings, both the zebra paint, and the islands, and the portion of the sidewalk that splits off from the footway=sidewalk (since ways are typically traced from the center), the usual tagging is footway=crossing. |
108547536 | over 3 years ago | You added tags relating to Dečani Monastery to the way representing the main church within the monastery. These should go on the monastery way which is traced around the entire complex. |
114459930 | over 3 years ago | Of course, you can add English names under the name:en tag, but there they should reflect standard English capitalization, so name:en=Old Town. |
114459930 | over 3 years ago | Please do not add English names in Albania. In Gjirokastra you added a place with name=Old town. Name tags should be in the local language. |
93014574 | almost 4 years ago | Sorry, "ways used by driveways to go" should have been "ways used by drivers to go" |
93014574 | almost 4 years ago | You added service=parking_aisle to a large number of service ways in Radom. This is not the correct tag for many of these ways. For example, the service way going through a petrol station is generally not given a service= tag. Also, ways used by driveways to go from the road to their home should be tagged service=driveway instead. |
113198642 | almost 4 years ago | Also, sidewalk-related tags do indeed have to be added everywhere. Not just because editors like Vespucci ask mappers to fill in these details for the sake of data completeness, but also because of real-world usefulness. For roads, it is so that routers will avoid sending pedestrians along the road itself. For sidewalks, it is so that the router can helpfully tell the user clearly "Walk along the sidewalk" instead of merely "Walk along the [unidentified] footway." |
113198642 | almost 4 years ago | My goal in all of this recent tagging of sidewalks (and associated roads) in PL is to improve routing. Developers of routing engines generally go by what is documented on the wiki. In the present case, footway=sidewalk is called the appropriate tagging, while path=sidewalk is referred to as an error. Even if you wanted Polish roads to be tagged a certain way, routing engines are international and their developers cannot be expected to know peculiarities insisted on by a few Polish mappers. I understand your view that a footway= tag looks incongruous on a highway= that is not a footway. However, you cannot expect OSM tags to be 100% logical. There are all kinds of small inconsistencies in OSM tags. |
113198642 | almost 4 years ago | As you can see on that page, the link to path=crossing is broken (it just redirects back to footway=crossing). If you really want this tag to be used by other editors, then I suggest documenting it. Another issue is that there is no sidewalk counterpart to path=crossing. That is, path=sidewalk is considered a tagging mistake on the OSM wiki. So as long as this is the case, I will assume that international data consumers are expecting footway=sidewalk or footway=crossing tags even on highway=path, and I will tag accordingly. |
113198642 | almost 4 years ago | The tag path=crossing does not appear to be documented at the OSM wiki. However, footway=crossing is a long-established tag and is what data consumers use. |
111400513 | almost 4 years ago | What is the source for the POIs and their names that you have been adding in Turda recently? |
107818761 | almost 4 years ago | What is the source for this large number of churches you have been adding? Also, please do not add the word "Restaurant" to the name= tag. It is not necessary. Instead of "Restaurant Casa Domnești", write just "Casa Domnești" |
79819945 | almost 4 years ago | What is the source for these amenity=grit_bin nodes on Ostrobramska? I can’t see anything on the ground. Are the bins only brought there in the winter months? |
111100629 | almost 4 years ago | I entered a mistaken value for this changeset. Instead of “Personal survey”, it should have been “Mapillary”. Sorry. |
89052650 | almost 4 years ago | Please do not add camp sites to the map unless they are official camp sites. Places that are merely "nice place for camp" do not belong on OpenStreetMap. (You can add them on other maps, like iOverlander.) |
