2 hour training ride to night, with diversions to fill in a few missing roads (just one to go this side of the A94 now) and a meander around Newtyle to get all the streets in place.
Added some pubs etc. as well.

Out on the mountain bike tonight, following the tracks and trails along the old railway line between Dundee and Newtyle. Came back through Dronley Wood. Fun at night!
Filled in a gap in Camperdown Park that has been bugging me and a couple of extra paths in Lochee.
Pootled around Strathmore on Sunday afternoon filling in gaps. Just a couple of wee roads near Campmuir to go, and I rode the missing link into Lundie, and Adamston. Slightly less blank space now.
Off to a race in Fife so I took the opportunity to grab some GPS traces from the car and tidy up the roads around Giffordtown.
I'll look out some more interesting routes home as the season progresses to tidy up some of North Fife.
Out on the bike this morning. 50 miles and a load of new roads on the map. The major Sidlaw climbs are now all present. Added in a load of roads south of the A94 on the North of the Sidlaws.
Drove to Dunkeld this afternoon and took the scenic route back. Added the Murthly-Kinclaven road and the road from Dunkeld to Caputh. More Sidlaws back roads too. Not much left to fill in there
Ran up Law Steps, all round the top of the Law finding many path I didn't know existed. The allotments will need to be marked in but pretty much all the recreational paths etc. are now complete.
Now added the allotments from the aerial photos. Need to add in the rest of the Green Circular route and the various 'spokes' as well.

A quiet day - added just one path on my way in today. Gradually tidying up some annotation as well.
Just a few odds and ends left to do. It was a very windy day, and lots of hills to climb in a 50 mile round trip to trace some more of the blank bits on the map.
My legs ache but the data is all now traced onto the server.
Came in along the river and added a few missing miles of shared use path - Riverside walk and Seabraes. I should be able now to tag all of NCN 77 as far as Perth, maybe beyond so I'll look at relations tonight and see if I can work out how to add them.
Rode to Crieff today so I am adding the road from Glencarse to Kinnoull hill and will add the Tibbermore-Crieff road later.
Added the rest of the planet trail and another path to Balgay Hill. I think that is about done for now, except for my next visit to the observatory when I will walk round the building and the car park to replace the placeholder nodes.
Also added the playground and toilets in Lochee Park. This was on my run in to work and my legs were tired, otherwise I would have added more of the paths on Dundee Law.
GPS in the top pocket of the backpack and a run to work this morning via some of the paths on Dundee Law. I'll add more in future weeks - keep me busy and get me fit.
OK, I've now strapped the GPS reciever to the bike handlebars instead of in my pocket and it seems to give a better signal.I rode round the Balgay cemetry on my way home to finish off the last few service roads and lay it to rest (groan!).
So that, as far as I am concerned, is now done. Still not entirely confident on the routing of the road on the south side by the bandstand as the signals are a bit jumbled on the GPS. One more ride through should sort it.
One path to go on Balgay Hill, then time to turn my attention to filling in the footpaths and tracks on the Law.
Nice 50 mile cycle ride today of which about half was unmapped roads. I've not added any POIs apart from the cafe stop. Maybe we should talk to the CTC about improting their 'cyclists welcome' data.
There are still plenty more roads to map, but I am gradually getting the word out about OSM so should get these filled in as the year progresses.
Still lots of local paths to do.
Got the top part of Balgay cemetry done this morning by stretching my ride to work and going round and round a bit. It seems the GPS loses accuracy in the trees and with orientation too.
The marked roads from the aerial photos seem slightly out of palce but I'll have to walk the park edges, the walls and the adjacent roads to get it right.
Just a few paths to finish off on Balgay Hill. It will be nice to see it completed.
Club run today. I forgot to start the GPS datalogger so missed the roads on the way to the cafe, but I did get a decent trace on the run back. Most of the minor roads have not been mapped - just the A roads, so I will get these fragments up on OSM ASAP.
I noticed one of the lads had a Garmin bike GPS so I'll ask him to record traces as he rides as well.

Ran in to work today over Balgay Hill. Round and round so I could add the various paths. Another couple of trips and I should be able to get all the obvious paths marked appropriately.
There are plenty of missing paths in the adjacent cemetry, and a famous bridge that is not there (yet). Plenty to do.
This project will either kill me or I will get very fit. Took the bike up the hills to get Kilspindie, Rait and a few other roads onto the map. Ran out of time and legs so Glendoick amd pitroddie will have to wait for another day.
The trunk road links at the Inchmichael interchange on the A90 need to be mapped. I'm not riding a pushie along the A90 on a Sunday afternoon!
Also tidied up a few other bits. Added some miniroundabouts, place names and tagged the level crossings.
I hope to get all the roads this side of Scone done soon as far up as Balbeggie. Then I'll focus on the Kettins-Newtyle area.

Anyone else in Tayside? I'm gradually getting the minor roads in the A93/A85/A90 triangle added in. Atrathmartine is done and I added the through roads in Abernyte as far as Collace (till birnam wood to dunsinane etc.). Didn't follow the B953 all the way to Balbeggie though.
Much needs to be done in Ardler/Kettins and the rest of Glen Isla. Ripe for a bike based mapping party if people are interested.. The hilly bits around Rait and Kinfauns also need to be filled in.
So the blank bits are gradually acquiring detail.
There is a lot of blank space around my city of Dundee, and many footpaths that need to be added. OSM has already got me riding down roads for the only reason that they are not yet on the map! I hope to fill most of the roads to the North and West in over the next few months - It will transfer the weight from me to the map!
