Did a super long bike ride from Wakey to Leeds to Weatherby to York, and infilled some missing bridleways along the way between Leeds and Weatherby.

I noticed theres sopme inaccurate NPE derived roads around Manston in Leeds, which I didn't have enough data to fix.

Over the weekend I made a few long on and offroad rides around West Yorks. Particularly the area between Emley and Huddersfield and the former coalfields around Featherstone. I have added a few residential streets and lots of new bridleways.

There's still a lot of gaps, including country roads around Lepton, if anybody feels so inclined. Likewise the villages are not yet fully mapped.

West Yorkshire towards Featherston, Purston etc is still rather blank, with high density housing and very few of the roads marked on. I'll try and fill some more in over the summer, but it's right at the end of my range on a bike.

Added traces for Emley, this time without colliding with anything on the way.

Looks like Clayton West still lacks detail if anybody wants to fill in a gap in the area.

Did ravensthorpe on the bike. I was a little nervous following a previous user diary entry about a OSM mapper getting mugged. I just managed to hit a washing line drapped across a mews street, which sent me tumbling from the bike. Fortunatly, some people on the street rushed over to help, as I lay stunned with a blood pouring from my face when the rope had hit.

There's still a gap between Huddersfield and Dewsbury and Huddersfield lacks detail away from the centre.

Took a bike ride yesterday, following various offroad routes to Castleford. There's a very nice bridleway along the A655, which I've mapped. I added what streets I happened to pass in Castleford, but the majority of the town's smaller streets remain blank.

Added flockton. A few minor roads don't have names, if somebody knows any better.

The area between Mirfield, Dewsbury and Horbury has just about every bridleway, path and other road on the map now, and looks pleasantly dense with detail.

Just did a series of rides to fill in some gaps in the southern section of the Dewsbury area. I covered a few footpaths, and some of the streets around Saville Town. There's still a few missing minor streets between South Street and Scarborough Street, and around Thornhill lees there's a few residential streets missing, plus minor dead end streets between Thornhill and Thornhill Lees. I'll try and cover that ground some time.

The nearest gap that close to me is around Flockton, and Emley moor, as there are minor roads missing.

The big gap in west Yorkshire seem to be between the M62, M1 and M18. There's a couple of people working on mapping in that area, but there's a lot of work needing to be done.

Took a bike ride around the east of Wakefield last night. Found a whole bunch of bridleways along the A656, which are part of the trans pennine trail. To the south are some new rights of way unmarked on my map. Some are closed by the mining going on, so some more work will be needed. I managed to snap a picture of the definative RoW map posted by WDC at Heath common which helps explain what is what, and have used that to mark the various ways.

Still a lot of work needed around that area both on regular streets and rights of way. I also noticed some big errors in Google Map showing footpaths as navigable streets near Sharlston!

Rode around several streets. Check GPS and it was off. Turned on GPS, check again, and off again. Replaced batteries and repeated the missing streets. Sigh. All good exercise I guess!

Added a few more tracks from some walks around Tideswell. The whole village is covered for roads, bar one or two newer dead end streets, and most of the local footpaths are. Some of the minor walkways around the village, which may or may not be legal rights of way are missing, but the majority of them are added to.

Added a few more minor roads and footpaths around the blank area to the south of Horbury. Nearly every non residential road country road is there, and many of the bridleways and quite a few of the footpaths are in.

Middlestown and Overton and Netherton to the east of the main road remain blank, but I'll try to have a crack at them one evening on my bike.

Took the bike out last night and mapped Thornhill edge: all the streets and most of the footpaths and minor snickets have been traced and written up.
There's still a gap between the road that runs along the base of the southern escarpment needing to be filled in, with one missing road (High Street) and a few offshoots.

Next planned mapping trip will be Middlestown.

Took the bike out to make use of the lighter evenings, and managed to record the roads around the eastern part of Netherton, some more footpaths in Coxley Woods, and the bit between Horbury Junction and Netherton.

Next, to do thornhill properly, as there is a lot of stuff not yet mapped.

Many of the network of bridleways around Dewsbury Golf Course have been added, plus a few other around Thornhill and Horbury, and Coxley woods.
