Sorry my apologies, you were using the water scheme correctly, the marley creek portion has the riverbank portion. Just looking at the data now.

The other issue is that these riverbanks are all just overlapping polygons, not relations, so you cannot have an island or show any relationships. I can fix it for ya and show the difference.

Thanks for the hard work! Most people don't use the older riverbank tag anymore, so I usually convert them when I see them. The natural = water and water = river scheme is more flexible because it supports access tagging, such as boat = no.

Thanks for adding, and your other additions to Cromwell! I am going to go out there and check these new areas out. I see you have some experience mapping around Loch Raven. Me as well. I have been using a digital elevation model to find and add trails and old ruins. There's a lot to explore. I've also tried to add more trees and water to the map, as it looks great on Strava :D

Richard, thanks for the comment. I agree, I'm not sure why I made it national. It should've been regional. Here's a few photos of the signage along it https://goo.gl/photos/qKXvhJe31dtNFa6U7

MD 4 is officially prohibited to bikes between Chaney Road at the north end of Calvert Co, to MD 408. Some of that had cycleway tags, but that is not possible, unless SHA has bad information. Have you surveyed the lane north Chaney Rd by chance?

Looks like imported some DNR land right on top of you AACO import Sparks. I missed it because the tagging didn't overlap. So, I've deleted my imported geometry and replaced the tags as appropriate (should be nature reserve, not park). My import was osm.org/changeset/27105352

Max, that is a great point. I think the area was already miltiary, so I left it that way. The facility is actually closed now, so even a hospital tag is not really appropriate. The roads in there are all private access, so I suppose we could just change the access restrictions to private, and then remove the military landuse tag. Optionally, we could replace it with brownfield.

Hey again, these are great updates thank you. Just leave a note as to what you changed, like, "modified quarry boundary to add new shopping center"

Any reason to delete the forest in the center of the interchange?

Mapmaker, welcome to the project! G;ad you're contributing. Could you be a little more descriptive in your changeset comments? Me and some of the other users are curious about the detail you're adding

Nice work! I see you're adding the bicycle = yes tag, correct?

Alright, I'll check it out. Nice work on updating the coastline by the way. As a boater, I'm sure you can appreciate how janky it looks in places. Better coastline makes for better visuals on maps!

Sure, so start by checking out this document osm.wiki/Import . The procedures are in there. Before importing buildings, we usually discuss with a mailing list, and then have the data vetted by the larger community. In this case, there is an excessive number of nodes which add some complexity to the map that is usually unnecessary and may have some negative impacts on the system. You'll want to write up a wiki on the procedures used to clean the data, any translation and what not. Check out the docs and let me know if you need help getting started. Also, what OSM groups in Annapolis are there? I'm up in Baltimore and am always looking for other Maryland OSMers to network with.

Hey, firstly, welcome to the project! I think that it is great you found a way that some government data could improve the map. I have imported a substantial amount of data into the map as well.

There is a process for this however, where the import should be documented and where there is local community involvement. To chat further, why don't you join us on Slack to discuss? https://osmus-slack.herokuapp.com/ We'd love to hear from you!

For the buildings in this changeset, what is the source?

41215659 about 9 years ago

Source should have been "Bing"
