My Neighborhood

Biking is one of the best ways to explore communities around us, despite not having enough biking infrastructures to promote the safety of bikers. There are still numerous neighborhoods with quiet streets where you can comfortably give your bike a whirl, discover what’s around you, and at the same time exercise

Thank you for posting your experience, and sharing what you’ve discovered. I’m looking forward to seeing them on OSM soon.

My Neighbourhood

Having your own street named after the family surname sounds awesome! However, “Quioge” for me reminds me of a more somber industry in the Philippines. Is your family somehow involved in that?

In other countries, waterfront properties are considered prime real estate. It sounds awesome to have cool, fresh air breezing in from the river every day.

New Feature Discoverd

This entry reminded me of something a favorite author, Terry Pratchett once wrote:

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” ― Terry Pratchett, A Hat Full of Sky

I believe that many people are like that - strangers to their own neighborhoods. I’m looking forward to seeing these details on the map soon.

Napaka-kombenyente naman, na nasa paligid mo lang ang lahat ng iyan.

Mapping My Neighborhood

I think you meant to write “difficulty.”

Building features in OSM may be generically tagged as building=yes, but if you have details, you can be more specific as possible, say building=detached or building=house.

Since you say you’re still new in the neighborhood, woudldn’t you say this is a great opportunity to know it better?

Thank you for posting your experience, and sharing what you’ve discovered.

Cheers,

My neighborhood

Actually, building=detached for stand-alone units, or building=house (singular) for residential buildings that share walls.

My neighborhood

It’s good to know how familiar your neighborhood is to you. I am looking forward to you adding them in detail in the OSM map.

My Experience on Mapping my neighborhood

It awesome to hear that you had fun, and is willing to this again! Next time, try capturing street-level imagery around your neighborhood with tools like Mapillary or OpenStreetCam. Of course, there aren’t even necessary as long you remember where you took your photos (or enable the the geo-tagging option on your camera.) but they are pretty convenient, and may be helpful for other people as well.

The Internet, just like any other tools that humans has made throughout history is a double-edged sword. Its own nature is neither good, or evil – what is important for us to learn is how to discern, and utilize them so that more people benefit from it.

Thank you for posting your experience, and sharing what you’ve discovered - including how you left the “old lady hanging in the air” – you’ll have to elaborate on that next time.

That’s the idea behind field work, where you get personally verify the information, as seen on the ground.

So, being that your neighborhood is small, I supposed you finished mapping your neighborhood quite easily. I’m looking forward to seeing those details on the map soon.

Chosen feature in my neighborhood

That sounds interesting! There are many frequent changes in that area - new businesses being put up, and other establishments closing down. It would be great if you can update that map with the latest information you’ve gathered.

First of all, I don’t think you’re writing this in Abkhazian, so next time you might want to indicate English instead.

Second, when you have the time to check the OSM map of your neighborhood, tell us what you find about the feature mapped as Everything at Steak, and the vicinity.

Thank you for posting your experience, and sharing what you’ve found in your neighborhood.

Cheers,

New discoveries, more knowledge, experience and fun!

Thank you for posting your experience, and sharing what you’ve found in your neighborhood. Isn’t it interesting how may new things are almost always hidden behind the familiar?

With regard to the data you’ve added for Chef Von, contact numbers should be written in the international format, +63 999 1234-5678 which includes the country code and access codes.
