Agree. Forum, mailing-lists, wiki in different languages, user diaries/blogs, IRC. Too much for non-geek.

In my experience, when JOSM fails (what happens rarely), it allows you to cancel the operation and try it again.

Just always use tested version of JOSM, not tested. And commit more often.
And yes, community is making it better.
And yes, community is working on some other tools.

AFAIK Yahoo imagery has accuracy up to 30 metres.

Actually after import I planned to write message to all Ukrainian mappers to check their regions.

Yes, we uploaded all cities, and villages. It is easy to remove manually that 100 or 200 points that were in Ukraine previously.

The first rule from the Hitch-hiker's Guide to Mapping is "Don't panic" ;)

What if school is more than just building? Normally they have some small stadiums, kindergarten have playgrounds. But address belongs to building.

You can check history from daily diffs and found who is "guilty".
