JOSM also save the locale settings, like : created_by=JOSM/1.5 (7724 hu)

for our Budapest Wheelchair mapping party ( 2014.August ) , I have created a basic prototype for Field Paper for city center … but we don’t used

• because we have to translate ( to hungarian) the key-value parameters for new mappers
• and it was too complex for the beginners

What I have done :

• I have used “Export Data” ( GeoJson http://fieldpapers.org/activity.php?print=z7pqb6d9&type=json ) to identify every cell ( M01..M07..M13) name and coordinate (lat,long )
• Generated M07POI ( from an OpenOffice template with python , sql script )

What I have learned:

• We need special carto rendering style - because not easy to find a POI with a similar name. ( like metro entrances with same name )

• we need translate key-values - to beginner - and not english - friendly . My tipp : using similar view like “iD Editor” POI view ( because it is translated every language and beginner friendly )

I am hungarian - and we have translated only the main osm wiki pages, like: osm.wiki/Hu:Key:amenity / osm.wiki/Hu:Key:shop / highway : osm.wiki/Hu:Key:highway , and other little wiki pages missing. :(

our main focus - is translating JOSM and iD Editor …

my idea was - “import iD editor key/value translations and show on the taginfo “values” tab” https://github.com/joto/taginfo/issues/69

other idea : extracting key-values translations from main translated wiki pages, and create all little pages from them. From this wiki page osm.wiki/Hu:Key:highway I can generate more than 60 little wiki pages ( with duplicating contents :( ) - osm.wiki/Hu:Tag:highway%3Dmotorway - osm.wiki/Hu:Tag:highway%3Dtrunk - ….
