130960830 | over 2 years ago | There are quite a few bits of abandoned construction around these parts too, but they occasionally find themselves "un-abandoned" and finished when funds become available so it's a bit tricky to figure out what to keep. |
130960830 | over 2 years ago | Hello again. I know in an ideal situation we remove objects from OSM once they no longer exist but please note that many of the buildings made uninhabitable by Dorian are visible as ruins on site and they are also highly visible on some of the aerial imagery. For recently damaged items would you mind leaving the ways in place and prefixing with a lifecycle prefix until such times as the "easily accessible" imagery in iD and JOSM have been updated to reflect the destruction? The database may be cleaner without them, but if they are fully removed they are likely to be re-added from out of date imagery. |
130841919 | over 2 years ago | For a couple of places I have private traces but elsewhere I try to roughly match whatever data is already there. Alignment does change a bit between imagery updates and unfortunately there are already cases where the roads and buildings are done to different alignment so that's not always easy to do. A few areas do have Mapillary imagery so those traces can also be useful for a sanity check. Sorry for such a generic response. I haven't had a broad "ground based" source since Strava became difficult to use. |
130873425 | over 2 years ago | Did you have to edit the whole world all at once? |
74964171 | over 2 years ago | I think this housename might violate the policy against posting personal information. |
130829012 | over 2 years ago | Where was this global mechanical edit discussed? |
130679557 | over 2 years ago | When moving to work on another area please save in between to keep the bounding box small. |
130490788 | over 2 years ago | ASA?
|
130409199 | over 2 years ago | Is this a residential or service road?
|
130425863 | over 2 years ago | I think this should be classified as service.
|
130425878 | over 2 years ago | A little road like this connected to other service roads is unlikely to be "unclassified" in the OpenStreetMap tagging scheme. |
130397826 | over 2 years ago | Are you sure about this? Looks more like a footpath from the width to me. |
130319832 | over 2 years ago | I suppose if you had other changes in there you could include those in a followup comment, but there isn't a way to split a changeset to give smaller bounding boxes after the fact. |
130319832 | over 2 years ago | Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

129389977 | over 2 years ago | Welcome to OpenStreetMap. Please save before changing to edit in another region. This changeset spans the Atlantic and most of the Americas. |
128902437 | over 2 years ago | You don't need to change names to imply a change of ownership if you drastically expand the border to cover a neighbouring property. |
128902437 | over 2 years ago | Has the new "The Pointe" hotel definitely taken over the property of the former British Colonial Hilton? I don't remember seeing that in the press. |
129041406 | over 2 years ago | I suspect you'll find that even the bit that isn't walkable is still part of Parliament Square.
|
128876299 | over 2 years ago | JOSM has a checkbox to automatically create a source tag based on imagery layers that will probably be a bit more informative than "various".
