My main mapping area is Highland Perthshire. As a Mountain Leader who takes groups with a wide range of capabilities, I am keen to reflect how easy or difficult it is to walk paths and tracks. So when I walk a path, I check and update the Hiking Difficulty (sac_scale) tag.

I am also keen to map to promote responsible access. So for example, when mapping deer fences, mapping the gates is key to allowing passage of foot, cycle or equestrian users.

In remote areas, I map features that are useful for navigation, such as crags.

I try to map streams as the dendritic pattern of headwaters provides some indication of slope directions.

Finally, I have some experience of mapping 3D building attributes - see Dunkeld and also Corbenic near Trochry. The latter was an initiative to provide a map for adults with learning difficulties that was less abstract than a 3d representation of their care home facility.
