Hi Wilpin.

Can you let me know what's happened with the Public Footpath here?

I visited the village and remapped the footpaths in April this year. At this specific location Public Footpaths had been changed 2 years ago. Lympstone Footpath 3 had been "extinguished" & Lympstone Footpath 1 was rerouted to follow the field edge next to the Brook. ( I assume they'd provided foot access to the historical mill, but that is now private residence)

You've edited Footpath 1 to go into the fenced off field. Can't find a change to route or a temporary diversion on Devon CC website. And there there would need to be entrances through the fence.

Hi, The name you've changed to is the OSM official_name=* The School was historically based in Exeter and named "Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education". It relocated to Exmouth a few years ago rebranded as "the Deaf Academy", but has retained the old name for official databases (eg Ofsted). There was a note added to the School about the lowercase letter.

I've changed the name= back to the commonly used name, and added the Official database(?) name under official_name=*

I think this is an issue that needs to mentioned in the MapRoulete task. Fairly common for organisations to use a different name for official documentation to that used "on the ground". Notably common with food establishments and FHRS data.

Hello, In this changeset you duplicated the toilets. They are already mapped as
osm.org/node/10061817908

As this changeset was only the addition of this toilet, I've removed it using a changeset revert.

Hi, I believe you've made an error in this changeset. You've dragged on node from a road a few 100 metes from where it should be. You can see it on map fairly clearly.

Just to clarify, it should have been surface=asphalt, and I left out smoothness=intermediate

Thankyou. The tag was a mistake. I've fixed the tags in changeset - 135025739

Thanks for the praise. With Exmouth being a "tourist" town, it's normal for things to appear each year. I'll take a look in the next few days.

Hello,

You've mapped a monument in this changeset.
osm.org/node/10796982893

I know the area, and am not aware of any monument. Can you tell me what the monument was?

Hi, in this changeset and a few other, you've created an area and added tags "barrier=hedge" and "landuse=farmland". The tag "barrier=hedge" can be used for area, and the way you've tagged is resulting in vast areas being considered hedges. I believe the advise is to map hedges on top of the farmland tag, with breaks for entrances. Jass.

Hi, thanks for updating this road.

I made some changes to the road and it now has slightly different tagging.
https://pewu.github.io/osm-history/#/way/456174990

Change from access=no, to access=private. Private is more realistic since the road is used to access properties. Then adding foot=designated there is foot access for everyone, despite the private tag.

Made some other changes in area using Public Footpath data from

Hi, I can see two planters on imagery. Which would block car access but allow cycle access, and possibly motorcycle access. I've made changes in following changeset
osm.org/changeset/134139668

I've added barrier=planter, and motor_vehicle=no; foot=yes; and bicycle=yes.

Can you confirm this was there recently?
Do you know if Motorcycles can get through the barrier.

The road is still privately owned by the developers, and has not been taken over the council. When the council adopt the road I assume the council would make it official with a traffic order.

Hi quishpapa. You have affectively duplicated tags? The station had the tag proposed:railway=station, and you've added railway=station, plus a couple of other tags that apply it's functioning as a station. The station is still not open so I assume the "proposed" part should still be before several of the tags?

I am gradually removing the cycling route relation for the Tour de Manche. The following link to forum explain reasons, and approach.
