Hi. The OpenStreetMap should only contain elements which are physically present in the world (not historic entities). By tagging these as railway=abandoned you're essential saying that if you go to these streets you'll see the abandoned railway tracks in the street which might confuse people not familiar in the area. The OpenStreetMap is not suitable for tagging the old Malta railway.

Hi, thanks for this change. I agree with removing natural=water since this fountain does not have a basin; but, I don't agree with man_made=water_well. There's no well here. Instead, I think we should put fountain=splash_pad. osm.wiki/Key:fountain#Splash_pad

Thanks for your addition to the map. I've noticed that you added the historic=castle tag which, surprisingly, according to the wiki, fits for this palace. I suggest also adding castle_type=palace to further indicate that this isn't an actual castle.

Hi! Thanks for your edit. I'm wondering however, what is the touristic attraction of the Law Courts?

Hi. Thanks for the edit. You marked Triq Pinu Mifsud as one-way however this would prevent anyone from getting out of the street. Is this correct?

Hi! I see you've modified the way osm.org/way/487904111 but it has no tags. What does this way represent?

Also the stop sign added here: osm.org/node/8077007982 appears to be facing the wrong direction since vehicles traveling 'backwards' and turning on Triq il-Belle Isle would have to stop, I presume.

Hi! There's an invalid turn restriction in this changeset which I've removed here: osm.org/changeset/93111662. We also need to review the bus routes going through here so that we can remove the remaining link road.

Nice to see these roads being updated so quickly on OSM. Just a couple of questions regarding ways osm.org/way/27449581 and osm.org/way/863244201, please, if you don't mind:

The ways are marked with access=no. Is this intended? Also, they contain a tag highway_1=traffic_signals. I believe traffic signals are typically marked as nodes on the way itself.

Also, I'd like to point out another disadvantage of removing English names: certain roads like "Triq Reġjonali" are better known by their English name ("Regional Road") which is even used on signs in the area. So if "Regional Road" is not in the "name:en" tag, searching for "Regional Road" will not return any results even though locally, Regional Road, is a well-known street.

I've done some research for you:
- On the openstreetmap.org map you can specify the language you want to see the map in by clicking on your account name on the top right, then going to My Settings and then changing preferred language to, for example, "mt en" so that the map will show Maltese names as much as possible.
- On the OsmAnd app, open the menu on the left, click on Configure Map and change Map Language to 'Local names' which will display the value in the "name" tag.
- On the MAPS.ME app, I can't see any option to change the language but it does show the "name" tag by default regardless of whether the street has an English name or not. As long as the official Maltese name is in the "name" tag, it should be fine.
- Unfortunately, the only problem I could find is the ID editor (shown when you click Edit on openstreetmap.org) itself which shows "name:en", if available, with no option to change the language. This is a problem with the ID editor which we could report. However, do keep in mind that the ID editor is not really the popular way for looking at maps, for most users. Having the names shown in English is not too big a problem in this case.

I obviously don't know which client you're using but perhaps, if it doesn't have an option to show local names, you should report it to the developers of that client.

But in that case, it's a problem/feature of whatever client you're using. It is not a problem with the map data. I do believe the Maltese name should be in the primary "name" tag but I don't see why we can't have translations like other countries in the world. Also note that things like "Malta" is also translated

For example, I use OsmAnd and I can configure it to show local names, English names or whatever other languages you want to see the map in.

I don't believe we should be removing the translations just because there's a problem with a client.

While you are correct in that the official name of roads for Malta are specified only in Maltese, perhaps we should consider using the "int_name:en" tag to have the English translation? I know that locally addressed mail using English street names is still routed correctly so, locally, people do sometimes refer to streets by their English name.

I wasn't aware there were delivery services in Malta that used OpenStreetMap data. Thanks.

Are there any other examples of "Geographic regions" being mapped within OpenStreetMap?

Hi, while thanking you for your contribution, it appears you've added a duplicate node on Cannon Road.

Cannon Road is already marked on the map and it would be appreciated if you remove the node again to avoid having duplicate information on the map.

Hi, I believe this is a duplicate of this restaurant, right? osm.org/node/7815121585

I can see the restaurant is called "one80 Kitchen & Lounge" on their website.

Hi, I've corrected the tags on the point you've added since diving centers are tagged using amenity=diving_center. I've also added some additional contact information on your node. Thanks for your contribution!
