I reverted these road category changes as they do not comply with locally agreed mapping practice (see: osm.wiki/Switzerland/Map_Features)

Why did you update this bridge as a trunk and what is your source for doing so?
For your information, the swiss OSM community has adopted a very precise definition for trunk highways, based on local signage:

No problem. To send me a message, just click on my pseudo and you'll see my profile. There you will find "Send a message". The message archive is kept separately.

Thanks for your esteem. If you want mapping suggestions, don't hesitate to ask me through the OSM mailing system.
By the way, did you notice the mail I wrote you on oct. 9th about sidewalk mapping?

I looked at your edits and they are correct.
I am unsure if any map renderer display chokers, but the info might be taken into account by specific routers.
Regarding your initial intention to draw them as areas: mapping this way would be an excessive level of detail, IMHO. In OSM, there are lots of other things that can be improved. And keep in mind that every object you add to the map will have to be maintained in the future...

I have no idea if it is advisable, but it looks fine to me in this way ;-)

OK, I added the choker as a node. I let it up to you to delete the area you draw.

Hello again,
I checked and the relation seems intact to me. However, the sandy peninsula you added will remain blue, because the lake area defined by the relation still includes it.
Should I correct that? (editing that in iD seems risky to me!)

Hello,
Your edit won't survive a long time, because it does not comply with the rules stated in the wiki of the traffic_calming=choker tag. Presently, it is not supported on areas, only on nodes or segments. As for myself, I think nodes are the better choice, as editors and some maps (I guess?) will render the choker. The node must be included in the road segment in order to be taken into account by routing algorithms.
Cheers, Michael

JOSM is surely the better choice if you edit such complex objects as the lake. IN JOSM, you will find a lot of interesting editing tools, like viewing object histories, etc.
Cheers.

Hello,
I think you broke the relation "Le Léman" in this changeset, which resulted in improper rendering of the lake. I tried several fixes before identifying a small segment of lake border that was duplicated and I deleted that. Let's wait a few hours and see if the lake rendering gets correct again.

Bonjour,

Hello again,
Having been there yesterday, I noticed that the (expected) living street connection between Avenue de Champel and Rue Michel-Servet is now almost finished and I entered it in OSM.
I hope that this first experience did not deter you to contribute to OSM.
My hint: for a beginning contributor, it is wiser to only add informations and to leave deletions to more experienced persons ;-)
Best wishes, Michael
