As of 7/25/2016, River Rd is closed to through traffic between the Hanover end and the intersection with East Thetford Rd. There is a bridge or portion of roadway that is washed out 5 miles north of the Hanover end of the road. North of East Thetford Rd, River Rd is open. The timespan of the closure was unclear when I was there.
