Today I edited again the same area as a few days back. Hopefully the area is nearly complete now.

Did some data gathering in the same area I did a few days back to fill up some gaps. At one point I lost my GPS! Fortunately I foud it a few 100 m back laying on the middle of the way..
Yesterday I did some editing of the data I collected the day before. Additionally I edited my personal wiki page regarding the tagging of small ways in the woods and in the fields.
Did some data gathering on New Years Day in the woods soth east of Braunschweig Kanzlerfeld.
Changes on landuse areas near Braunschweig Kanzlerfeld
Posted by Mathias71 on 30 December 2008 in English. Last updated on 3 January 2009.- I've corrected several areas around Braunschweig Kanzlerfeld from natural=wood to landuse=forest.
- Additionally I've tested to bring together areas like forests with highways if reasonable. Not to have a highway and next to it with a gap of a few meters a forest for example. I think it looks better if the border of the forest is on the highway. I'll check after the next render if it works out.
Edit on 03.01.2009:
The result of the above mentioned looks good. I think I'll go on like described.
Already yesterday I corrected several bugs in Braunschweig Kanzlerfeld:
- Added two playgrounds.
- Added several "Wendehämmer".
- Detailed an footpath area at Nernstweg.
Several bugs corrected.
Posted by Mathias71 on 28 December 2008 in English. Last updated on 30 December 2008.- Several bugs in Braunschweig city (around Hennebergstraße) corrected.
- Several bugs in Braunschweig city (Maginiviertel) corrected. Mainly one way streets.
No effect for rendering
Posted by Mathias71 on 10 December 2008 in English. Last updated on 30 December 2008.The change I made on Monday had no effect on the new OpenRoutService.org map from Tuesday. But this map looks like it is based on old data from last week. Several changes I made over the weekend are not included. Maybe they are one week behind. But why should they do so?
Edit on 30th Dec 2008:
Here is the answer to my question from above. I got this information from a conversation with osm.wiki/User:Pitscheplatsch, the "owner" of OpenRouteService.org on osm.wiki/Talk:OpenRouteService#Feature_requests_and_general_feedback :
- Generally the routing data is updated every Tuesday based on the weekly dump from Tuesday.
- At the moment (december 2008) there are problems with the server of OpenRouteService.org and so the routing data is not updated.
- ORS don't support turn-restrictions yet! (status on 13 December 2008)
On monday I realised that I can't find a crossing in Braunschweig with a restriction. For example no_left_turn. This leads to wrong routing of course. I tried a restriction on the crossing Georg-Eckert-Straße/Bohlweg in Braunschweig. On Tuesday the new rendering of OpenRouteService will take place and I will see how it works out...
On Sunday some editing of the paths in the Ölper Holz.
- Foot Paths
- Stores
- Bus stops
- Little street for busses in front of P.T.B.
I did data gathering of Braunschweig Kanzlerfeld. I did concentrate on the the footpaths since they were not correct in the map until now.

Corrections of little roundabout east of VW-Halle
Posted by Mathias71 on 3 December 2008 in English.I did soem correction of the little roundabout east of the VW-Halle. It was not shown in the mapnik layer and not working for routing. I hope my corrections will work out.
Yesterday I did my first editing within OSM. Just some not very productive editing of some of the footpath and POIs in Kanzlerfeld. Just to try out Potlatch and JOSM. Today in the morning I saw that it worked and my editing can be seen in the Osmarender Layer of the map. The editing will probably take some more time to appear on the Mapnik layer.
I had a nice email conversation with Fröstel who helped me quite a bit to learn about editing within OSM.
