The maproulette task will not be handed out to new folks automatically (if you know about it you can still access it).

Re: "Shanmarie Lane" between Monty and Albirch. You marked this as access=no, but when I drove earlier this week, it seems this road doesn't even exist? Should it be removed instead? My mapillary photos should be available in a few days.

Great thanks!

I will see about getting maproulette challenge updated/cancelled.

73205910 almost 6 years ago

The maproulette challenge tells them to use it https://maproulette.org/challenge/2710

Really the maproulette challenge should be more clear on exactly the requested format.

Hello,
You renamed McClockklin Road to McClocklin Road, but you didn't change all the addresses on this road. Could you update?

Thanks.
Added this info (using height = 2.6m)

Hello,
It would be helpful to tag the guideposts that you added with the correct tag. I'm not sure what the guideposts look like in this area, so I don't know which tag to select.

There is also a 'sidewalk' on the south side of the road that enters the park at the end of Sebring.

Yes, I am sure... it was built late last year. If you want you can improve my geometry a bit as the sidewalk goes around the corners on Westview and Parkview.

Issue with w109600056
Conflict between lanes number: on two way, (lanes=2) <= (lanes:backward=2) - (non fullwidth backward=0)

Also if you want on the city's mailing list for address/street change notifications, probably you just need to ask to be added.

Street name changes are now posted publicly. I just asked them to update the page. https://ottawa.ca/en/city-hall/public-engagement/projects/street-name-and-address-changes#street-name-and-address-changes

Street signs have been changed based on my survey.

BTW, The reason I check with ArcGIS is is that sometimes in the past the email notification and ArgGIS have not been the same. Also sometimes the web site was not the same either (but now the web site is out of date). So I don't make any changes until the multiple data points from the city match each other.

Hi Danny,

We were in the midst of discussing why you didn't feel name changes should be done, but I don't feel we had concluded that discussion and it wasn't clear to me why you were concerned with the process that has been used before. Sorry for that.

To your specific points,
1) The primary source of the change is not ArcGIS, it is an e-mail from the City dated usually around 1 month before the name change. The email start with something like this: "The Director of Building Code Services, under delegated authority granted by By-law 2014-78, approved [number/type of changes]. These changes are part of the process to resolve confusing street names within the City.
You are requested to make the necessary adjustments to your records to reflect the new street names and civic numbers as indicated in the tables below. Please make the changes to your records in accordance with the language format used.
Please note some of these streets are physically disconnected and therefore only a portion of these streets are changing.
The change is effective [date]. Location maps are attached for your reference."

2) I do verify the correctness of many of a subset of the streets. I give the city a few days to make the sign changes and then send in inquiries when they are missing. This was a problem 2 years ago, but has since been much better that signs are updated promptly.
3) I'm happy to add old_name tag or similar. Nobody previously brought this up as something needing doing.

I'm not sure what is the problem renaming roads when the city officially renames them?

I've been doing this for 2 years now because nobody was doing this previously and they all got out of date.

Hello,

You renamed Highway 416 to the Veterans Memorial Highway... which maybe is more correct.

However, you didn't rename 401 to Macdonald-Cartier Freeway.

Could you make the 400 series roads consistent across Ontario instead of renaming just one of them?

Maybe a significant rename should have a quick discussion on talk-ca mailing list?

Probably delete it....
