That isn't a correct tag for a speed limit. I thought I did add a note saying "Temporary speed limit due to roadworks" but I must have forgot or it didn't add properly. I'll add it now.

Hmm, still all A-roads are listed as "Principal Road - A" on that map. West Sussex CC doesn't seem to know what a primary route is, maybe something similar here? I'd be surprised if there's just a gap here in the primary status.

Can you send a link to the source for this? The Herts CC highways gazetteer map only shows "Principal Road - A" for primary and non-primary roads

My apologies, occasionally iD does strange things with my laptop and doesn't undo even though it looks like it has

145778932 over 1 year ago

Unadopted roads do not continue the speed limits of adopted roads, and so I removed the speed limits except those erected by road owners themselves (e.g. 10 mph). I retained (or meant to until you pointed out I forgot) the limits around the old military base because of this. I've not gone near any shop names or fixmes here so not sure what you mean by that.

I would argue the width doesn't mean this should be marked as a pedestrian street. The vehicles you describe can also use the paths in parks, yet these are not pedestrian streets.

Oh I must have forgot to update that. I'll add them back

Are you sure the maxheight is 12'3"? I'm pretty sure it's at least default here

139878645 almost 2 years ago

Well perhaps enquire if there is a TRO and if not remove the restriction

139878645 almost 2 years ago

Not sure if a TRO is used, however as prohibition of cycling signs are used on all approaches, I marked it as such.

139878645 almost 2 years ago

Yes, it is banned. I saw signs on my recent trip to Wales. The roadworks between J12 and J13 to bring the dual carriageway there up to standard resulted in these yellow signs going up banning cyclists from J11 to J15. Can't quite make it out, but here it is underneath the brown sign: https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=53.2013595&lng=-4.11394&z=17&pKey=422956639351622&focus=photo&x=0.2679870765487419&y=0.45754226762179084&zoom=0.9582839116289317

But GB:nsl_single should imply different speed limits for different parts of the UK, e.g. trucks where it's 40 mph in Scotland and 50 mph in England

142577513 almost 2 years ago

Now the A5 has a gap in it. Are you sure this is right?

142284296 almost 2 years ago

Please note when changing speed limits in Wales to the new 20 mph limit, you need to also change the maxspeed:type=* tags. If the road in Wales is lit and has a 20 mph speed limit, then add the tag maxspeed:type=GB:nsl_restricted. If the road is not lit and has a 20 mph speed limit then add the tag maxspeed:type=sign. Speed limits of 30 mph should now always have the tag maxspeed:type=sign

142350221 almost 2 years ago

Why have these roads been changed to 10 mph? Did you mean 20?

140965179 almost 2 years ago

I would suggest that this road is not an expressway. Despite the three grade separated junctions, there is access for pedestrians & cyclists, the speed limit is low and there are still numerous side roads within this section.

Again, just because these ramps *are* the A516, that doesn't mean they *have* to be highway=trunk. The wiki page for highway=trunk_link even says "Use highway=trunk_link for link roads (sliproads and ramps) leading to and from a highway=trunk." As I have seen many times before, the sign colour could be incorrect. For example, there's a green sign here (https://www.mapillary.com/app/?focus=photo&lat=52.9124875&lng=-1.5158363888889&z=17&pKey=211770674253287&x=0.4926006856509276&y=0.5588215907497979&zoom=0) and yet this section of road is marked as a non-primary route (in OSM, highway=primary). So is it marked wrong, or is the sign wrong? Many signs before 1994 - and indeed newer copies - use an outdated colour coding system, and it looks as though this is the case with the roundabout direction signs on the A516 having left the A38. The signs on the off-ramp should be black and white. There are quite a few multiplexes like this, another example being the A50 and A515 to the west of here. All the A515 ramps to/from the A50 at Ashbourne are marked highway=trunk_link. As you say, the ramps at Mickleover should also be marked as highway=trunk_link, but this is a grey area as there is no defined start/finish point of the ramps after they have left the A38, as the A516 is a dual carriageway here. So I would leave the road tagged as highway=trunk throughout in this case. Same for the M26/M20 junction for instance. Unless there is a specified reason, these should be highway=trunk_link. The wiki says so, convention says so. The ref is irrelevant.

140063384 almost 2 years ago

That is irrelevant. These are highway on/off ramps to the roundabout from the A38 - hence the change to a "link" highway. They can still carry the tag ref=A516.

140063384 almost 2 years ago

Sorry why the revert? I did not change the ref from A516.

For the first two, the paths are continuous. There's no dead end for the public footpath/bridleway. They both go from a service road to a dedicated path. The fixmes didn't mention signage. For the latter, there is no visible trail on the imagery. If you think anything there is wrong then re-add the fixme tags.
