Bonjour, Merci pour vos contributions. Vous aviez marqué une demande de vérification sur ce changeset. Les images de terrain [1] ainsi que la cartographie de la région Wallone [2] indiquent que ce segment s'appelle "Bas Chemin" même si vous observez à juste titre que la numérotation des maisons est dans la continuité de la "rue Louis Piérard". La confusion est légitime, mais il faut donc restaurer le nom de "Bas Chemin".

Hello, Not sure how to tag this, but according to this blog post [1], Venus artwork replaces Memento but isn't there to stay after August. Maybe add a Note tag or play with the start_date / end_date tags ?

Thanks a lot for your contributions in the area of Mons (and elsewhere, of course).

I think this node is unnecessary because redundant with the existing administrative boundary of Mons: osm.org/relation/2372934.

Also, according to the site you referenced, the population figure is not 444,662 but 257,860. It says (1) “257 860 à Mons-Borinage et 186 802 sur notre partie de la Wallonie picarde”, which is, as their map shows (2), an area that includes Tournai and must thus not be included.

So, the population figure could be added to the administrative boundary relation and the node deleted.

Hello, You’re doing a massive change in the classification of roads, some of which look incorrect in the light of this convention: osm.wiki/WikiProject_Belgium/Conventions/Highways. For example, N6 should be a primary and R50 shouldn’t be a trunk. Would you please explain the reason for the changes and why you lake such changes “en masse” ? Thank you.

Hello, Classifying R50 as Primary looks correct. It has a Ring number, is built like a Primary road (e.g. tunnels to avoid direct crossing with local roads), is dedicated to motor vehicles, is directly connected with Primary roads, forms the logical continuation of other Primary roads, etc.

This is a massive changeset in one go and spread over a large geographical space. It's good practice to keep changesets smaller, so they're easier to review and correct.

For example, Passage du Centre in Mons is disused and physically inaccessible, so there no KFC, Guess, Nespresso, Channel, etc. shops there.

Would you please explain what source of information was used for this changeset ?

Hello, I noticed the unusual sym=Waypoint on this chapel: osm.org/node/1751630173. I was wondering what this tag means (I don't see documentation of it on the wiki, and it's not so frequent on taginfo) and what it served for. Can you shed light on this? Thank you.

The start of the response ("We will only... if...") sounds obtuse, but the rest shows openness, so I'm happy and supportive. With that said, you better already prepare your plans, because converting a good 200 nodes to areas is not a challenge. :-)

Not findable by whom and where ? I'm asking before it's findable in OpenStreetMap.org: osm.org/search?query=Mons%20ICI%20Paris%20XL#map=19/50.45646/3.93246. I'm asking also because mapping a shop as area is preferred over mapping it as a node because an area can capture the entire surface where the commercial activity is conducted (e.g. the terrasse of a pub) which a node cannot represent. See the Buildings paragraph in the Wiki page on Shops: osm.wiki/Shops#Buildings. I'd like to better understand the issue you're experiencing because I wouldn't like to be constrained in mapping places more accurately based on a problem I don't understand.
