124463048 | about 3 years ago | the times I've been through this section of trail, even in wet years like 2017 and 2019, this was definitely not a ford... but I haven't been back in a while. has this changed?

124462927 | about 3 years ago | these two segments were part of different relations - one for the JMT and a second for the PCT. combining the two segments breaks the PCT relation.

124329185 | about 3 years ago | I know there are campsites in the vicinity but they’re almost certainly not named Test, can you fix this?
|
123451505 | about 3 years ago | looks like you just deleted a node, not the way. did you intend to whack the whole thing or just the lower half?
|
121838730 | about 3 years ago | that sounds normal, the cabins are put up for the summer only. pretty much just a canvas tent with a temporary floor on the permanent foundation. |
121249721 | about 3 years ago | elevations are in meters, not feet, can you fix it up?
|
121838730 | about 3 years ago | is Bearpaw in bad enough shape to tag is as abandoned? the HSCs in Yosemite have been closed for some similar reasons (high snow years, covid) for quite a while too but they're being maintained. just haven't been through Bearpaw since the fire

120521206 | over 3 years ago | thanks, I couldn't figure out an easy way to tackle this in parts. Yosemite/Hoover/Ansel Adams/Emigrant have a similar problem too, though not quite as bad

117549442 | over 3 years ago | We've been following the footpath=sidewalk, path=trail tagging practice here. Can you switch these back?
|
114632801 | over 3 years ago | I removed the extra campground area in osm.org/changeset/115444484 as this is not standard and there is already a relation covering the campground osm.org/relation/3170026 |
114632801 | over 3 years ago | I fixed the Yuba Gap Lodgepole campground tagging (this changeset removed the camp_site tag) but I'm wondering what osm.org/way/1009708593 is for... it's a lot bigger than the campgrounds and it's not using standard tagging. Happy to help fix it.

113751221 | almost 4 years ago | yep, the actual format is sort of peculiar and specific to OSM. I use a plugin for jOSM that does it automatically but you can read about the details here if you're interested osm.wiki/Key:opening_hours |
113751221 | almost 4 years ago | no problem at all. what I should have mentioned is that opening_hours has a special way of encoding opening hours so various apps can parse it. I updated the tags to use this formatting in osm.org/changeset/113854567 please take a look at make sure I didn't screw them up, thanks again! |
113751221 | almost 4 years ago | if it's not too much work could you move the hours into an opening_hours tag? this is the standard machine readable tag

113177981 | almost 4 years ago | I've heard this also goes but Secor (and a few others) describe the route to Ice Lake Pass as going around Ice Lake to the east... which hits the eastern saddle (the currently named one). I've also read trip reports using the western saddle. I've generally gone with Secor around here. Thoughts? is there a solid use trail up the western side? |
112381836 | almost 4 years ago | kk, that's more or less what I've done in the past with QGIS and some DEM elevation rasters. one of these days I could hack up a little script to do it semi-automatically. |
112381836 | almost 4 years ago | heh no worries. if you have a good workflow for looking up elevations I added some more passes (mostly around Yosemite and Ansel Adams) and peaks that are currently without. |
112375098 | almost 4 years ago | Bing is very poorly aligned around here, please check other imagery and/or Strava.
|
112381836 | almost 4 years ago | looks like osm.org/node/9165321065 is in feet instead of meters, can you convert it? thx
|
111893505 | almost 4 years ago | are you sure there is a hospital here?
