Peter Nygard, who in court filings says he is a consultant for the Nygard Group and sole owner of Nygard Enterprises Ltd., has been indicted on nine charges in the U.S. for allegations he sexually assaulted women and girls over a 25-year period in Canada, the U.S. and the Bahamas.

Nygard remains in custody at the Headingley Correctional Centre awaiting extradition to the U.S. He will appear in bail court Jan 28.

Nygard has consistently denied the allegations and says they are fabrications as part of a conspiracy to malign his reputation.

However, specific to the building & lot: I will be there in a neon suit & mask to cheer on the demolition of that property. That intersection should not have drive thrus and the absence of streetscaping in the current design was a crime. That plot would do more for the neighbourhood as a gravel parking lot, and I hate parking lots.

I remember it being a run down chicken chef(?) forever

It's been listed for sale forever, and surprisingly cheap for a fairly big plot of commercial land right on Corydon.

It's also the reason I stopped ordering Swiss Chalet directly, because I'm in their delivery zone and nothing was ever made close to correctly, things were always missing, and the staff/managers were horrible to deal with. I don't think I'm stepping out on a limb in saying it was very much "family run" in the worst possible way.

I think they're closing any lease they can possibly get out of (except flagship location type things). Probably assuming that most landlords will be happy to have them back post-pandemic.

That restaurant was done ages ago … I believe a year before covid it was listed for sale. Honestly that one should have been the Tims that’s across the street IMO. I am sad that the Starbucks closed down farther up Corydon

upon further digging its entry was listed as permanently closed. That, and it's also no longer listed on the Harvey's website either. The same is also true of Swiss Chalet.
