There are no trails that follow Red Creek on the north side, please delete.

There's no random path here that intersects Big Stonecoal and takes you nowhere.

The southern part of this trail does not exist. Technically none of these are trails, but the Lion's Head is a popular overlook that people will find their way to in this rock field, so the rest is fine.

This trail also does not exist.

No, these trails do not exist. If you don't know the name of a trail please do not add it, this is designated wilderness and accurate maps are a necessity to keep people safe. Please delete these trails.

Nice, but should this be fully deleted? It's permanently closed. https://www.nps.gov/gwmp/learn/news/national-park-service-adds-safety-features-in-memorial-circle.htm

It's fine, it was weird that I couldn't get your trail to work on plotaroute so it drew my attention. Then I queried the adjacent trail's history.

Hi, tomkiti did an edit 6 months ago that removed this and said it was closed. Which of you are correct? I can see it on Strava's heatmap, but it seems to be fading. Will hopefully go here myself in the next couple months. Thanks!

Absolutely, clay_c gave excellent examples of National Monuments (outside of DC) that should be considered national parks. Those are Monument Lands not a statue kind of monument.
But as another example of a small National Park, see Gloria Dei Church National Historic Site in Philadelphia. Its National Park status is because it's affiliated with the larger Independence National Historical Park, and these small DC parks (Farragut, Dupont, etc.) are all affiliated under the National Mall and Memorial Parks unit.

BTW my edits were changed before the discussion was over, Thanks.

If it is a National, Federal level administered park with Federal Protections protecting it from any type of development then it is a National Park, just like National Monuments, National Recreation Areas are.

You are incorrect, they're clearly listed on the site you linked to https://www.nps.gov/state/dc/index.htm you just have to actually read the descriptions to see what specific parks are under which area. Second, you should actually consult a NPS map such as this one https://www.nps.gov/nama/planyourvisit/maps.htm and you'll find there are a lot of National Park Service administered lands in downtown DC. If you were a local you'd actually know this information.

Are you joking? Hundreds of people a day use this for leisure for walking, running, hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. You should read the first sentence of the wiki, "A park is an area of open space for recreational use, usually designed and in semi-natural state with grassy areas, trees and bushes." This is open space, used for recreational purposes, and is kept natural (most of the canal is returning to nature and is not maintained).

That is not evidence that they are trails that are open, safe, and maintained. The official map is at https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/upload/WhiteoakCanyon_RoadTrail.pdf , and along with the National Geographic Map these trails do not exist. Maybe they were old and closed long ago and the wildlife use them just enough for algorithms to think they're there. But they are not and adding false trails to isolated parks gives a false sense of security for novices to venture to places they are unprepared for. All of these fake lidar trails need to be removed.

Hi, what are these trails? Are they new? What are their names/labels? I don't see them on any Heat Maps to show anyone has used them and am not personally familiar with them. Thanks.

Thank you for your comment. I don't agree that a 4 foot sidewalk should have as much visual prominence as a 6-lane road. I was going to eventually re-add the space around Lincoln and WWII as Squares.
