Multipolygon finally | If it works with mapnik it works with osmarender. At the moment there is a problem with the mapnik layer, causing that every inner hole has to be anticlockwise. This is a bug and is on the (long) list of things to fix. http://trac.openstreetmap.org/ticket/1113 |

Ankeveen swamp and more. | Welcome to Openstreetmap. As noted before the layer tag should be "abused" for it.(mapnik does not make much use of it, it is meant for bridges tunnels etc.) The multipolygon is quite simple, explanation here osm.wiki/index.php/Relation:multipolygon. For the AND data the only advise i can give you is, if you know it is wrong, change it. If you are in doubt, don't hesitate to ask questions on the dutch mailinglist, dutch IRC channel #osm-nl at irc.oftc.net(irc.openstreetmap.org webclient), the forum is less frequented. For the mapnik render, we got a dutch tileserver which is more frequently updated (database updated every day) at tile.openstreetmap.nl, NL cyclemap at www.openfietskaart.nl. The main mapnik map is updated every week at wednesday, so you can expect your changes to appear somewhere today Some more info about what to do with the AND data at osm.wiki/index.php/AND-NL:_Todo |

Multipolygone im Süd-Harz - kaputt? | are you sure the polygons are closed? Or it would be this http://trac.openstreetmap.org/ticket/1113 |

campus | Also pretty easy to load OSM in postgis. The mapnik data gets rendered from a postgis database. osm2pgsql is used for the upload |
|
Signed up | Gps track uploaden via tablad GPS Traces en drukken op EDIT. Of via JOSM gewoon openen.

| That is happening because of the anti collision mechanism of Mapnik. Because Furth, Erlangen and Nurnberg are all place=city, Mapnik will not render one of them. If you think only Nurnberg is worth the tag place=city change Erlangen and furth to place=town, then only Nurnberg will render at high zooms. Look at map features for the guidelines. If you do think they should all be place=city, you will have to wait till someone comes up with a better algorithm |

Osmarender doesn't render my way correctly | Go informationfreeway.org, search this area. Go to zoomlevel 12 (rightbottom) and ask for manual rerender of the tile(ctrl + click). |

How do I delete roads from others? | Last tip. You can always revert the way back by pressing H. Undeleting ways by pressing U and clicking on the little lock in the left bottom |
|
How do I delete roads from others? | Tip2: dual carriageways / junctions should be tagged with oneway=yes when they are oneway. The direction of the road is in OSM based on the direction of the way, the little arrow in the circle on the Left bottom will give you the direction between the first and the last node. osm.org/?lat=25.12428&lon=55.20203&zoom=16 . |
|
How do I delete roads from others? | Tip: osm.org/?lat=25.16679&lon=55.2604&zoom=17 . Roundabouts should be a separate way tagged with junction=roundabout. Press X on the node connecting the secondary road with the roundabout and it will be cut. |

How do I delete roads from others? | Hi, good to hear that there is finally a mapper in Dubai. Been there last October and many of the tracings are mine waiting to be tagged. osm.org/?lat=25.08513&lon=55.1528&zoom=16&layers=B0FT You probably mean this flyover right? I know that one is changed but someone traced over it :( . I even added one lane that is changed now, My gps traces are still available, press G and you get my tracklog. The Yahoo imagery is pretty old, Palm Jumeirah isn't even on it. Now how to delete a way, assuming you use the flash editor (tab edit) aka "Potlatch". Well you click on the way, press shift+delete and its gone. If you just want to delete a small segment, click on the way, then click on one of the red dots and press X. The way will then be cut. Good source of help is the wiki. osm.wiki/index.php/Potlatch/Primer . Need any help just send a message to me via osm.org/message/new/10927 or log on the OSM irc channel #osm at irc.oftc.net or irc.openstretmap.org for web client. Good luck! PS. There is another mapper also here osm.org/?lat=25.23905&lon=55.31797&zoom=15. Something else to look at is that i didn't connect all the blocks to the primary roads like here: osm.org/?lat=25.16326&lon=55.22216&zoom=17 |

Tried out JOSM for the first time today. | You can forget about any of the tags that start with tiger:* when you create a new road, they are just for the tiger import. Though it would be useful if you change the tiger:verifier=no when you checked an area. About the OSM backup, you can save your data with JOSM, or just extract an planet dump. But it is actually not necessary, When you delete an way it remains in the database, you just need to restore it, Potlatch the flasheditor can already do this when you press U or H and JOSM will support it when someone finished it |

Westchester County Highways mapped. | Hi, Westchester county is one of the counties for which TIGER data is not yet uploaded because of the existing data. If you send an message to Dave Hansen, he will import it. Then you just have to merge the existing data and correct TIGER data ;) osm.org/message/new/7168 will do. |

OpenPisteMap | Different tip: if you would be able to get either mod_tile or tilecache working, you won't have to render first every tile in you bbox but every tile which get looked at. |
|
OpenPisteMap | If you need an different area to test on, i mapped the whole of the skiarea of Galtuer. osm.org/?lat=46.9618&lon=10.148&zoom=14&layers=0BTT |
