Residential road / Tertiary road | In Britain, a tertiary road is between a B road (secondary) and unclassified. Residential is a unclassified road with houses on it. I don't know how this fits in over there. |
Traces for multiple streets are continuous | Incidentally, the "trace" is actually called a way. Traces are what GPSes produce. |
JOSM Performance Issues | Java doesn't like compositing window managers. |
Moving back to Newcastle | I've always thought that Lismore was a weeish island off of Oban on the west coast of Scotland. |
All Glory To Potlatch | I think that potlatch / a user using it has created multiple versions of the same thing. |
na | I think a lot of the railway lines in Glasgow were done from landsat satellite images, which aren't very good. |
trace not visible on the map. | The main map is updated every Wednesday, so you'll have to wait for a week. |
Two weeks cycling and hiking with a Garmin Vista HCx | There is likely an option in the GPS tracking option page which says "Log to external card". Enable this, as it has no limit. |
Strange | Other GPXes seem to be fine, are you sure your files are some kind of XML? |
How to save modifications in "Edit"? | The normal map layer is updated on and after Wednesdays. |
Parkinson | Here's me thinking that Parkinson was a TV talk show host. Great names for places you have over there. |
Anarchy and OSM | I can't help but draw parallels between OSM and Wikipedia. We all know how Wikipedia is now, but I'm sure that it started with the anarchy that OSM has just now. |
Anarchy and OSM | Anything would be better than the current situation. I posted on the mailing list about a tag tab here, but was told that ideas aren't good enough. |
Just added a missing public street round my homesite | As a large monopolistic supermarket chain says, every little helps. |
new here and fascinated | Without your location, it is hard to check your work. |
Help | In other words, it won't appear until at least next Wednesday. |

Question to Online map sites | The only reason the real name and the copyrighted map's names are supposed to be the same is because their map's right for that particular road. Just because someone says that the road I live on is "Montrose Drive", doesn't mean any knowledge of that name is also under copyright. |
Refusing to be a puppet | I wonder if the SNP will start renaming roads "Alex Street". Alex Salmond is the First Minister of Scotland by the way. I'm not sure why I'm saying this. |
UK canal progress map | Not meaning to be a whiny Scotsman (well, maybe just a bit), I thought that the UK wasn't just England. Sorry, I'm a pedant. |
