164962639 | 3 months ago | Good afternoon. Not sure if you're familiar with Stava, it's an app for recording and sharing gps tracks of sport activities. Looks like a lot of people have uploaded their runs in this subdivision. We can use this tracks to map the newly built streets even if they don't show up on satellite imagery yet. Would you like to give it a try? Just use this browser extension to access the heatmap in the editor: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/id-strava-heatmap/eglbcifjafncknmpmnelckombmgddlco |
165029108 | 3 months ago | For privacy reasons personal information like names of building owners or residents should not be added to OSM. For more details see here: osm.wiki/Mapping_private_information Can you please remove the names that you added here and in other edits? |
164319675 | 3 months ago | Good afternoon. Why did you change the name of this substation (osm.org/way/116434364) from "Davao Substation" to "DavaoCity_Substation"? The name tag should contain the actual locally used name with proper spacing and no special symbols like underline. Also descriptive names like this one here (osm.org/way/1373308965) should not be added. It's okay to leave name tag empty for obects that don't have a proper name. Lastly, please don't just comment every upload with "detailing". Changeset comment should contain a brief description of the edits that you made. It's also very hepful if you mention your sources, e.g. ground survey if you visited a place in person. osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments Thank you. |
165241749 | 3 months ago | Good afternoon and welcome to OpenStreetMap. Looks like you accidentally changed the name of this peak (osm.org/node/10113632954/history). The OSM object for Lipadas River can be found here: osm.org/relation/17512729 Are there any changes or improvements that you would like to make to the river? Best regards,
|

163480440 | 4 months ago | Welcome to OSM and thank you for adding this new neighbourhood. I changed it from a node to a landuse area and also mapped the street network. Do you know if the subdivision is gates? If yes then you could add the gates at the entrances and access=private on the streets. Best regards, Timmy |
156697052 | 4 months ago | The multipolygon in question was inappropriate in multiple ways as it also duplicated the building attributes of the main municipal hall building to all the other buildings in the compound. I've replaced it with this landuse (osm.org/way/1377369045) and also reached out to the mapper regarding some other possible tagging improvements. |
156428394 | 4 months ago | Selamat pagi. I noticed that you changed many footways and paths in this area to highway=residential together with motorcar=no. I'm aware that this practice seems to be accepted in Indonesia but in the Philippines we try to stick with the global tagging conventions. Highway=residential should only be used for streets wide enough for motorcars and access tags are intended to map legal access restrictions, not physical impossibility. If you could review these changes again it would be greatly appreciated. Terima kasih. |
164598117 | 4 months ago | I already improved the tagging before I wrote above changeset comment. Maybe you still had the older data loaded in the editor. Always make sure to refresh data before starting a new mapping session because other mappers might have been active in the meantime. |
164598117 | 4 months ago | Good day tcgcwaypoint. Welcome to OpenStreetMap and thank you for your very detailed contributions at Tangub City Global College. In OSM we have a quite complex tagging system with specific established tags for almost every object that can be mapped. For compatibility it's important to stick to these tags whenever possible. The OSM wiki has descriptions and definitions for most of these tags. For example here you can find all you need to know about indoor mapping like what you attempted at TCGC: osm.wiki/Simple_Indoor_Tagging Instead of pathway you can use highway=service for driveways highway=footway for outdoor pedestrian paths, indoor=corridor for indoor paths. For rooms the correct tag is indoor=room + room=office/toilet/classroom, etc. For buildings there are specific tags to describe the function, e.g. building=college, building=sports_hall. Hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions! Best regards, Timmy |
160370217 | 4 months ago | Hey there. According to the wiki railway=abandoned should only be used if "the route is still visible with ties/sleepers, signals or other railroad right of way signs or infrastructure". No such physical signs seem to remain for the former rails in Bamban. Most of the right-of-way has either been replaced with streets or is covered with buildings. At most some secondary recognisable traces like earthworks are visible which would match the wiki description of railway=razed. |
162889075 | 5 months ago | Good day, Please have a look at wiki documentation for access=permit: "This tag should be used in cases where a permit is required, but is routinely granted to everyone requesting it." Possibly access=private might be more suitable here? |
150009912 | 5 months ago | Hey Relae. Occasionally a letter or numerical suffix is added to 3-digit refs if all allocated numbers for a given area are already in use (in case of Davao City N913-N921). For DCCR the route number is not yet signposted but can be found in the DPWH Road Inventory. |
160016532 | 8 months ago | Good morning. With this revert you removed various tags including population, official_name, is_in:*, admin_type:PH and more, which all seem to be well-established and aligned with local mapping conventions. Please consider reaching out to mappers through changeset comments or direct messages if you have concerns with some of their edits. For general discussions about local mapping conventions there's quite an active OSM PH community channel on telegram (https://t.me/OSMPH). Given the very generic changeset comment one can only guess what caused you to do this revert. Would you mind explaining the reason for the deletions? Do you maybe have concerns with the change from designation to admin_type:PH? If so, this topic was discussed and voted on in the above-mentioned community channel and wiki documentation has been updated accordingly. Generally reverts should only be done if you are very confident that entirety of a changeset is problematic. Most of the time it's better to just load all affected data of a changeset into editor and then selectively modify tags/geometries. This is to avoid reversion of accompanying changes (e.g. updating of population). Best regards. |
133464926 | 8 months ago | Good morning! What source did you use for mapping the Sibulan-San Jose Boundary, specifically the section between Janayjanay and Maningcao? There's a DENR map in the national park that indicates the boundary might be further north, in a more or less straight line, not following the river. |
154504368 | 10 months ago | Demotion of streets around Agora was long overdue. But I'm wondering about the removed access restrictions on the new connector road and the geometry changes at the intersection with Julio Pacana Street. In February access was still restricted to hgv, bicycles and pedestrians only. Is your change based on local knowledge more recent than this? Also as far as I know strava updates their heatmap monthly but their gps traces still indicate an offset at the intersection, not a direct connection to San Pedro Street. |
154627390 | 12 months ago | Good day Jherome, I find some of the downgrades in this changeset quite confusing. Given that you do not indicate any source for your edits I would like to ask if you have any on-the-ground knowledge in the areas affected by these changes. Even if you do, I believe it would be quite appropriate to consult with other local mappers first before conducting modifications on such a massive scale. Many of the roads in question serve as integral links and alternative connectors between large population centers (cities, provinces and even regions). Downgrading them from trunk and primary to secondary (the same level used for roads connecting small municipalities) completely breaks the long and well established hierarchy of relative importance. Here are a few examples: - Dologon-Quezon Road serves as main artery for traffic between Davao City/Davao del Sur and Valencia/Malaybalay/CdO (arguably higher relative importance than bypassed Quezon-Maramag Section of N10) - Matalam-Bagontapay Road serves as main artery for traffic between Gensan/Marbel/Tacurong and entirety of Bukidnon/Misamis Oriental (similar importance as Makilala-M'lang Road) - Aglayan-Ticalaan Road serves as alternative connector between Valencia (and as extension of N912 also for traffic from Davao del Norte) and CdO (much higher importance compared to nearby Tagoloan-Talakag and Cabanglasan-San Fernando Roads) - Kibawe-Kalilangan Road serves as alternative connector from Kidapawan/North Cotabato to Marawi/Lanao del Sur and CdO/Misamis Oriental (much higher importance compared to nearby secondaries connecting Kadingilan to Damulog, Dancagan and Don Carlos) Looking forward to hear your thoughts! |
152104882 | about 1 year ago | Good day again. Not sure why you are sorry, but please only use the description tag for information that is relevant for the end map user. And please add more meaningful changeset comments to your edits. Try to describe what you're detailing and connecting (e.g. "connect roads, add surface details"). |
152864929 | about 1 year ago | Good day. Please have a look at the wiki definitions of highway=busway and highway=bus_guideway. They should only be used where bus lanes are physically separated from all other traffic and for the latter additional rail-like infrastructure is required. This does not seem to be the case in Tacloban. osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dbus_guideway Bus routes driving on regular roads can be mapped using public transport relations containing the existing highway segments. |
