112756488 | almost 4 years ago | Hi, Please try to upload your changes once you're done editing in a certain area. Otherwise, you'll create one changeset that spans the entire country, like this one. This makes it hard for people to track changes being made to the map. |
98459708 | almost 4 years ago | Hi, A few things to note here. First of all, please try to avoid making changesets that span such large areas. If you break your changes up into more localized changesets, they will be easier to manage. Second, please don't use names like "Belt Expy S. Ramp", or "I-690 W (Abandoned)". In the first case, no name at all would be best. It being a highway=motorway_link and leading to a named road is enough. In the second case, consider something like `abandoned=highway`, with `highway=motorway`. Perhaps note that it was part of I-690 W by adding `note=Was part of I-690 W`. Again, though, no name value would be appropriate. The last thing I noticed was that you were adding several turn restrictions to prevent turning onto a road tagged with access=no. This is unnecessary, as routers already will not route onto this road. I know this is one of your earlier changesets, but I figured I'd mention these things. Thanks for your work mapping! |
112651237 | almost 4 years ago | Hi, This road should probably not have a name value, since it already has "ref=US 219". Having a name value would be duplicate data. |
56669384 | almost 4 years ago | Ah, I see, I didn't know that tag went on the exit node, rather than the way. Sorry to bother you. |

112098552 | almost 4 years ago | Hi, A few things here:
Please message me if you're interested in joining the discussion regarding the new trunk tagging scheme, and I will send you the appropriate links. |

112105810 | almost 4 years ago | Saw Mill River Parkway is not built to motorway standards here. |
112107314 | almost 4 years ago | Hi, What is your source for the name "Taconic Parkway Road"? I have never heard this name before as a local. |
112135815 | almost 4 years ago | Hi, Briarcliff-Peekskill Parkway should not be motorway here. |
112135686 | almost 4 years ago | Hi, Saw Mill River Parkway and Briarcliff-Peekskill Parkway should not be motorway here. They are not built to those standards. |
56669384 | almost 4 years ago | It appears as though there was no exit_to tag on this way. This changeset was the first to show any tags with these values. |
56669384 | almost 4 years ago | Hi, I'm cleaning up the ramps from I-990 to UB North Campus, and I noticed that you set the destination:street tag. The destination, and destination:* keys are to be used for destinations that are signposted on the ground. They should not be used simply to refer to where a road leads. In this case, the exit in question is signposted as leading to "University at Buffalo North Campus", or something similar, I can't remember the wording exactly. It doesn't mention Audubon Parkway at all, so there shouldn't be a tag mentioning it. I'll go ahead and delete the destination:street tag, but please only use the destination tags for signposted destinations in the future. Thanks,

33695596 | almost 4 years ago | Hi there, I noticed that you tagged the turnarounds on Capen and Windermere Boulevard as highway=unclassified. This tag has a misleading name, and does not mean a road that has a nebulous classification. Rather, it is more like a step below tertiary, and is almost exclusively found in rural areas. Should these roads have been tertiary, I believe that highway=tertiary_link would be the best tag to use for the turnarounds. However, there is no link tag for residential roads, so I'm going to tag these turnarounds as highway=service. I believe that it is more appropriate than unclassified. |
109686283 | almost 4 years ago | To expand upon the downgrade from motorway, there is only one grade separation. It's fairly agreed upon that more is necessary to warrant motorway. |
109358472 | almost 4 years ago | Yes, there's definitely a better way. highway=construction means a road that is currently under construction, and is anticipated to be completed. Since there doesn't seem to be active construction on this road, this tag is not appropriate. The way I'd usually do something like this is by tagging the road with access=no, foot=yes, bicycle=yes, etc. This means that it's closed to all traffic except for foot and bicycle. However, you run the risk of some piece of software seeing "access=no" and marking the road as closed to everyone. If you want to say that the road is open to everything except motor vehicles, you could just add motor_vehicle=no. |
109358472 | almost 4 years ago | Is this road really under construction? |
108649755 | about 4 years ago | Please try to break up your changesets into more localized areas. |
108985347 | about 4 years ago | Please use NYS Orthos Online as your imagery source. Bing is very poor quality, and isn't well aligned. |
