151120486 | 6 months ago | Hi there 👋 I saw that the operator was changed from "Conrail Shared Assets Operations" to "Consolidated Rail Corporation". Conrail has not existed under that name since 1999, and the remainder of its lines that weren't sold off to other companies are now part of CSAO, a joint subsidiary of NS and CSX. Shouldn't CSAO be the operator here? |
161957756 | 7 months ago | Hi Whitney, I saw that park-and-ride attributes were removed from the Fifth Ward / Denver Harbor Transit Center last year in this changeset [1], but re-added in this changeset. Houston METRO's website lists it as a park-and-ride [2], with a measly 24 uncovered spaces. It looks like this refers to the parking lot one block north of the bus station. What is METRO's stance on this parking lot? Do they intend to have this bus station show up as a park-and-ride in their trip planner? 161957979 | 7 months ago | Sorry for the confusion. I admit that the guidelines are unclear about solitary mappers working on behalf of an organization. As someone who falls into this category more or less, I'm not obligated to follow them, but I still feel like the guidelines are intended for people like me, so I follow them in good faith. In the interest of transparency, I would recommend you follow them as well, or at the very least, share some details in your account bio about who you're working for and why. I've started a forum discussion about the ambiguity in the guidelines here:

161957979 | 7 months ago | Thank you for the timely response. What is the name of the organization you are working for? Please make sure that your activities are documented on the wiki: osm.wiki/Organised_Editing/Activities |
161957979 | 7 months ago | Hi WhitneyS_Arcadis, It looks like the Missouri City Park & Ride and the Maxey Road Park & Ride have both been changed to parking lots here. Are they no longer active as bus stations? In the future, please use more descriptive changeset comments so that other mappers know what you are doing: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments Are you editing on behalf of an organization? If so, please read the Organized Editing Guidelines and document what you're doing and why: osm.wiki/Organised_Editing_Guidelines Clay |
158071331 | 8 months ago | Hi gcycaas, This is not a funicular, nor is it an incline elevator. railway=funicular is not about the underlying technology, but the fact that it shuttles people up and down steep inclines. The ones you've changed in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Toronto, and Mexico City also appear to be various forms of cable-driven fixed-guideway transit, not funiculars. Could you please revert these to how they were tagged before? |

158916428 | 9 months ago | Hi cubbe8, It seems the network value for Route 2 was changed from US:MA to just MA, which would imply that this is a national highway of Morocco (country code MA). Was this an intentional change? In the future, please be more descriptive with your changeset comments so other mappers understand what you mean to do. osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments |
155745763 | 10 months ago | Well, reverting this was less than optimal. My mistake. I think we might need to go through and manually review all the switches on the LIRR Main Line anyway—there's been a lot of construction there lately. |

157645855 | 10 months ago | No worries, we all get caught up sometimes. There isn't really a 'best' way to map these sorts of bulb-outs as linear roadways. As a highway=turning_circle, it's unusually short and stubby, but as a one-way loop following the path of buses, it would imply the existence of a traffic island. In good faith, I've restored the roadway geometry as a turning circle: osm.org/changeset/158834101 I'm sure we're not the first to encounter this, though. I've started a thread on the forum: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/is-this-bus-turnaround-a-highway-turning-circle/121261 |
155212429 | 10 months ago | While I'm not sure if there's a way to tag that there's no barrier preventing wrong-way drivers from entering the tracks, crossing:barrier=no refers to whether the crossing is protected by barriers in the expected direction of travel. Perhaps each individual barrier=lift_gate could use mapping here. |
