Does this replace The Mill (osm.org/node/2327787588) which also appears to be located in the same place?

70293390 about 6 years ago

This one was already mapped: osm.org/node/3957621973

So I've removed the duplicate shop in osm.org/changeset/70411825.

I've restored the split bars/shops and breweries in osm.org/changeset/68162124.

The problem I found is that some of them are breweries, pubs and alcohol stores. Often these different activities are in different parts of the buildings, though not always. When they were part of the same node / way, then it was pretty random which would get picked by different renderers, making the data a lot less useful.

If you have a better idea on how to do this, I'm all ears. I'd just like to make sure that it's consistent across BC, which is why I started that wiki page and went through all of the local ones.

I've started to change all of the breweries in BC to be in line with this guidance: osm.wiki/BC_Craft_Breweries#Tagging_guidance

Basically, it seems like the best thing to do, as far as I got from the discussion with more experienced mappers than me, is to tag the building as a brewery and then put a node in the area of the building that's used as a tasting room / bar.

Sadly, Starlit Citadel is now permanently closed: https://web.archive.org/web/20190126152548/https://www.starlitcitadel.com/games/blog/

I have removed it in osm.org/changeset/68105487

Hey,

I think it's possible your OSM app wasn't up-to-date when you added MEC because it's already on the map: osm.org/node/5902494685

I have removed the duplicate entry.

Cheers,
Francois

Hi there,

Thanks for adding extra details on the Cafe Artigiano entry!

Just so you know, the phone number field also requires that we include the country code as well ("+1" for Canada and USA).

I've fixed for Cafe Artigiano in osm.org/changeset/63078257.

Cheers,
Francois

Hi Annette, I've removed the entry you added for David's Tea because it was already mapped: osm.org/node/5843046885

Maybe your MAPS.ME maps were not up-to-date.

Hi Bernd, I noticed that your Go Map!! edit had only updated the "name:en" field for the Tim Horton's and not the underlying "name": osm.org/node/4796021822/history

I fixed it but I wanted to point it out in case you didn't know about this. MAPS.ME seems to have the same problem.

This was already on the map: osm.org/node/1730973295

and so I've merged the two entries together:

BTW, if you are interested, there's two of us trying to map all of the hydrants in Vancouver (https://jaller94.github.io/vancouver-osm-analysis-data/) and one thing that's really helpful is to also add the number that's on a sticker on the hydrant (e.g. P09015). We add it as the "ref" tag on the hydrant node.

It's part of the Vancouver team projects: osm.wiki/Vancouver#Specific_work_pages

Anyways, thanks for adding the hydrants. If you also have time to add the unique identifier, that would be great. Otherwise, no big deal, we'll get to them eventually :)

That restaurant is actually on the other side of the street: osm.org/node/3947247519

I have removed the duplicate entry.

I walked through the whole alley and added turn restrictions for the three "no entry" signs: osm.org/changeset/59546454

57337937 about 7 years ago

I just double-checked this and found "no entry" signs on the corner of Richards and that lane, as well as the corner of Homer and that lane. Essentially preventing cars from entering the lane in an eastbound direction. If you are in the lane though, there's no indication that it's one-way and so you might go in any direction. Should I add turn restrictions from Richards and Homer instead of making the lanes one-way?

57337937 about 7 years ago

I didn't any one-way signs when I walked through them. What sort of feedback did you get that they had restrictions? I can walk there again and look for specific signs if needed.

I restored the POI in osm.org/changeset/59067821 and removed the restaurant in osm.org/changeset/59067828.

Hi Ali,

When removing closed businesses, it's better not to delete them entirely, but rather to leave the address in.

I have restored the restaurant:
osm.org/changeset/59056894
and then removed the relevant tags from it to only leave the address:
osm.org/changeset/59056916
Thanks for updating OSM!
