OSM the Legal Monster | @SimonPoole : It’s spliting hairs a bit, but I think the trademark policy is fair game, as the subset of OSM users/contributors that have used somewhere the “OpenStreetMap” brand is around 100%. For example posting on a social network “I just made my first Open Street Maps contribution” (typos intended) would be covered by this policy, even if nobody cares about enforcing it. |

OSM the Legal Monster | I think GDPR and other “underlying legislation” are besides SunCobalt’s point as the “OSM project” did not write those or did not actively choose them (e.g. Creative Commons/ODbL). |

"JustGo" : a new map for OSM (local) public transport data visualization | Pretty neat ! Maybe you could mention that you are using Overpass API and the overpass-api.de server ? Their server is used by a lot of projects and having a mention is the least consumers can do :) |
|
Location to put package | Hello, I’m not sure who you are trying to reach with your blog message, but this is a blog platform related to OpenStreetMap, a map database. |

Get ready for osmcha.org | Thank you for the heads up ! |
|
addr:county tag within Somerset | Note that the same goes for country, postcode, city etc. Most of those are already mapped as boundaries, so mappers only need to add “addresses” that cannot be determined automatically. |
|
addr:county tag within Somerset | There is no need to add this tag on every entity inside the county, it only bloats the database. The county administrative boundaries seem well-mapped, and a random search with Nominatim confirms that entities inside the boundary can correctly be geocoded as part of the Somerset county. |

Will the notes ever be published? |
That is not remaining civil. Your comment under the post is. I don’t think OSM has any stake in this dispute, as they state in Informationfor officials and diplomats ofcountries and entities with disputed territories : “The existence of a name, boundary location or description in the OpenStreetMapdatabase does NOT imply that that it is legally correct in any jurisdiction.” They only made a decision to conform to a rule that was approved before this dispute. |
|
Will the notes ever be published? | This was not a light decision, and one that they would have preferred not to take. Please remain civil, that will help your voice to be heard. |

Where am I? | On the top-right side of the map on the main website, there is a button (the third one) that let’s you display your location. This data comes from your browser, so the precision can vary. If you have a smartphone, you can use an application such as OsmAnd that can use GPS to give you a more exact location, on the go. |
