Hi Everyone

Spam... on doing the splits?

Lost for an Hour

donkeyB's got no diary entries but has spammy links in his/her user profile. Thank you for outing yourself, stupid spammer.

And why is this user still here? Spam usually gets cleaned up a little faster than this.

Starting with my neighbourhood (Καλλιθέα)

There's a page on multilingual names (osm.wiki/Multilingual_names) and also transliteration codes (osm.wiki/Transliteration_code)

I think the last two are mixed up. They should be:
name:en=All Saints Road (or whatever the translation is)
name:gr_bgn=Odos Agion Panton

I'm just picking BGN as a possible system of transliteration from the wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanization_of_Greek

Organisation - let's make it happen!

Yes, learn to lurk first. Learn more about this project before launching your idea.

For one, I don't think user diaries is the right place to ask organisational questions. Diaries are more for "this is what I'm doing on/with OSM" type information. Your questions are probably better asked on mailing lists or on the wiki.

Spammer Suck !!!

The OSM wiki has a lot of GPS reviews. (wish there was a preview option so I could see if I made a link)

And yes, spammers suck. They are parasites.

Wikipedia full of copyrighted, unattributed maps

The simple answer is that Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation are victims of their own success.

The fact is that WP/WM do have rules about copyrights, including fair use. But there are so many people adding images and photos that some things slip through. They should be spotted eventually and replaced or removed. Hopefully.

As to the coordinates on many articles, Google "tolerates" their use probably because they can in turn harvest them and use them in Google Earth.
