125373826 | almost 3 years ago | service=driveway2 is labeled as deprecated, and a possible tagging mistake in the wiki. Therefore, I think it is reasonable to be removing those tags. The wiki states the automated edits should only be done by people who really know what they are doing. I trust ZeLonewolf to be doing it correctly. |
125373826 | almost 3 years ago | I would agree that service=driveway2 is nonsense. At least until someone documents in the wiki its meaning and intended usage. |

125305978 | almost 3 years ago | Wrong changeset comment. I added a restaurant from a note. |
125236111 | about 3 years ago | Oops! The changeset comment is supposed to say"landuse". |
124821415 | about 3 years ago | The lake outline is in the wrong place, not the buildings. I just haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. |
124676121 | about 3 years ago | Mapping temporary road closures due to construction like this is discouraged. Please use conditional restrictions instead: osm.wiki/Conditional_restrictions Please do not hesitate to ask me for assistance if needed. |
124675487 | about 3 years ago | Why did you remove the access tags on way 155846919? |
124464651 | about 3 years ago | Hi,
In my strong opinion, it is correct in this case. I have been in this area and looked at this spot many times. Unless you have also surveyed this area, or have some other, more reliable source, I will revert this change. Thank you, have a nice day, and happy mapping! |
124464651 | about 3 years ago | Hi,
|
123413459 | about 3 years ago | It took me a whole day, but because it was more than 10,000 edits (the limit of one changeset), JOSM split it up. |

115398005 | over 3 years ago | Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention. I modified existing building footprints that looked very inaccurate when compared to Swisstopo imagery. Since it seemed like bad data to me, I fixed it. But if you believe this is not the effect my edits had on the map, I will refrain from further edits like this one, since you are likely a more experienced mapper. Thank you and have a nice day! |
117724210 | over 3 years ago | OK, leaving it at 200 for now sounds good. Maybe write a note linking to this discussion, to prevent further confusion? It appears that the maxspeed tag has been changed many times before. |
117724210 | over 3 years ago | Hmm. After doing some more research, it looks to me like we have a lot of contradicting evidence, making me unsure as to which is correct. Your website says: "Dazu gehört etwa, dass der Tunnel vorerst für eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 200 km/h zugelassen wird. Im Hinblick auf den Einsatz von schnelleren Zügen werden die Anlagen für Geschwindigkeiten bis 250 km/h bereit sein.", which somewhat translates to that for now the max speed is 200 km/h, and soon it will be 250. However, that article was written 6 years ago in December of 2016.
The English version of the website I cited states that the max speed is 249 km/h. The German version, however, says that "Die maximal zulässige Geschwindigkeit beträgt 230 km/h.", or ~"the max allowed speed is 230 km/h". I don't know when any of these 2 were written.
The English Wikipedia article on the GBT also states the max speed is 249 km/h. Its source is however the same as my original one.
This document from the Swiss government, dating from June 2015, says that the max speed both is AND will be 250 km/h: https://www.news.admin.ch/NSBSubscriber/message/attachments/39644.pdf This website from September of 2021 says the max speed is 249 km/h: https://www.railway-technology.com/projects/gotthard-base-tunnel/#:~:text=The%20maximum%20permitted%20speed%20for%20passenger%20trains%20travelling%20through%20the%20tunnel%20is%20249km/h%2C This document from the company that built the tunnel (AlpTransit Gotthard AG) says the max speed is 250 km/h (page 7): https://www.alptransit.ch/fileadmin/dateien/gotthard/facts-and-figures-gotthard-base-tunnel_e.pdf
Thank you for your respectful and responsive participation in this discussion. I do not wish to offend or condemn your activity on OSM and hope you have a nice day. jmarchon |
117724210 | over 3 years ago | Shouldn't the maxspeed be 249 km/h? This website clearly states that "The maximum speed permitted is 249 km/h."
