This is a floating dock and not an island, is place=island appropriate?

👍 It may be worth separating the name= into name:en= and name:zh=

Different things
osm.wiki/Tag:boundary%3Daboriginal_lands
vs
osm.wiki/Tag:place%3Dhamlet

https://apps.gov.bc.ca/pub/bcgnws/names/73722.html

If someone with local knowledge wants to add the place tag, they can. I just don't have the knowledge to do so.

I believe it is both the community and the stream that are renamed.

https://apps.gov.bc.ca/pub/bcgnws/names/73741.html

I couldn't find any nodes on the map for the community so didn't change the community name. I didn't want to assume where the community is so didn't add a new node either.

Looks good! Adding the city and province is unnecessary since these nodes are already located within the city/provincial boundaries

What is the value in these additional nodes? I generally delete any additional nodes along a straight line because I don't see the need but if they provide some value I will make sure not to.

Thanks for your edits. Great stuff, keep it up!

Great details you have been adding, thanks!

Heads up that we normally tag sidewalk=separate instead of side=both if it has been separately drawn, like in this case

Thanks, I see your edit splitting these nodes.

I should mention: be careful when using StreetView as a reference for editing - see [https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/710/can-i-use-google-streetview-to-help-create-maps]("Can I use Google StreetView to help create maps?")

This is a good addition, thanks for adding it.

Small comment: I feel that the alignment could be better. You have drawn it so that the overhead power line and abandoned rail line share some nodes. Based upon other shared rail/powerline corridors in the Lower Mainland, my guess is that the alignment of the rails would have actually been right between the two power lines. Thoughts?

Hi Enderbyte, thanks for fixing these errors and making these improvements! I appreciate your work.

A small error: [This building trace](osm.org/way/551367697) uses outdated aerial imagery. I had tagged it with a fixme because the resolution of the aerial imagery that is currently available is too low to make a good trace. Next time I will add more detail to my fixme notes so its clearer.

Thanks again,
Joel

Awesome. Thanks again for these updates.

Great additions and edits - thanks!

Just wondering what your source is since it wasn't tagged.

Welcome! Thanks for adding these buildings.

A small tip: if you select the buildings you drew and hit the Q key, it will square the corners so everything is at right angles.

I hope to see more buildings in this area!

Technically, UC11F33 is the reference for the underground cable dipping from this pole, "UC" for "Underground Cable". Poles do have unique identifiers, they are usually seven digits but could vary depending on the vintage and area. They are found on a little yellow plaque or embossed in the wood.

I don't think it's necessarily wrong to tag the pole reference with this ID. The cable ID will be labelled in much larger print than the pole ID so it's an easier reference to spot. I just wanted to jump in and mention it since I know you are doing lots of work adding power line details.

Thanks!
Joel

Hello, thanks for adding this business! I appreciate your thoroughness with all the tags.

The location does not look right, however. Can you please move it to the right spot?

Thanks.

Hi Derek, these edits don't look quite right. The department store is in the parking lot and the motorcycle parking is in a house. Can you correct them?

Excellent work, thanks for adding these! One thing I noticed - it looks like you accidentally retagged the park as artwork (osm.org/edit?way=216238934)

I would like to understand why you removed this path. Thanks.
