132817832 | over 2 years ago | Personally I wouldn't tag this one as Panorama Drive even though there is a council street sign for the 2 houses. I'd tag it as a driveway rather than highway=residential and without a name. Legally it's actually an unbuilt road reserve that goes all the way to Kinross Road, mostly named Whitby Place with another name on the western part. |
133001929 | over 2 years ago | Centrelink (Services Australia) is out on Redland Bay Road south west of the library, that one is a council customer service centre. I wouldn't tag the building with the library as a library as it's just one small part of the building. I think the building is called "Capalaba Place", it's got the library, art gallery and customer service centre on the northern side, and the hall around the southern side. |
123498023 | about 3 years ago | Nice work! Fixing the map by changing the real world. |
122275938 | about 3 years ago | Those residential streets of Capalaba don't have a 33kV transmission line. You can see the top conductors that terminate at pole and pad mounted transformers are joined underground to the power pole outside Multihire (middle conductors). The top conductors on that pole (outside Multihire) is one of the 33kV transmission lines from the Cleveland bulk station to the 2 Capalaba substations. |
122143972 | about 3 years ago | Distribution lines should be power=minor_line. power=line is for bulk transmission lines, usually 45+ kV. Open Infrastructure Map is a great tool to visualise power lines, substations and generators. |
113055775 | almost 4 years ago | Hi Rob, could you review your changes, the surface=metal tag doesn't seem right. Thanks, Jono |
111583236 | almost 4 years ago | You might like to revisit the address of Red Rooster, unless it really is on a bun :) |
108897403 | almost 4 years ago | Hi Michael. Just letting you know I've just removed the parking area you added 2 months ago out the back of Sirromet. That clearing was used for the Love and Monsters movie in 2019 and has since grown back with nothing left visible. Jono |
111178001 | almost 4 years ago | No worries. I'm not involved with Scouts Qld so am no authority, however from my limited involvement at the Mt Cotton facility I hadn't heard of/seen the registered entity name before, which appears to be "The Scout Association of Australia, Queensland Branch Inc" (slightly different to your comment). I'd have thought your organisation's registered business name which is all over the web site and Facebook would be the best name. In the same way we map "Bunnings" rather than "Bunnings Group Limited". |
111178001 | almost 4 years ago | Hi, you've spelt Australia and Queensland incorrectly. Rather than the association legal name, wouldn't the main trading name "Scouts Queensland" be a nicer fit for the operator tag? |
107729955 | about 4 years ago | That second link didn't work correctly, the colon on the end didn't link. This one will get you there: https://bit.ly/3ik3dZF |
107729955 | about 4 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM. To guide you better mapping, you'll want to read more detail on the wiki as you go. You should not put descriptions into the name field (osm.wiki/Names#Names_are_not_for_descriptions). In this case, I assume the community centre acts as an emergency shelter only during an emergency. In that case you might like to just add the "emergency:social_facility=shelter" tag to the community centre building area and delete the point you added, see osm.wiki/Key:emergency: Jono |
107119767 | about 4 years ago | You've created a beach at Deception Bay. You should familiarise yourself with the tagging guidelines for beaches, specifically the upper and lower limits which are mapped incorrectly.
Are you sure the beach is named "Deception Bay"? The suburb/town name shouldn't be added to the beach if it doesn't have a name. OSM tagging uses lower_snake_case tag values, and so the surface=Sandy_with_vegetation tagging is now unique world wide. Usually the primary surface is used, in this case "sand", if you want to keep vegetation then you should use surface=sand;vegetation. |
107117064 | about 4 years ago | You've created a randomly shaped beach named Cribb Island with bad tagging next to Dunwich. Please stop defacing OSM. |
107116361 | about 4 years ago | You've created a concrete beach strangely shaped covering grass, roads, buildings and beach. |
107053702 | about 4 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM. The toilet block should be tagged with amenity=toilets not name=toilets. See the OSM Wiki for documentation on this tag, you'll also find that the iD editor you are using also has a preset for toilets to save you typing the tag. osm.wiki/Tag:amenity%3Dtoilets Let me know if you've got any questions. 105203849 | about 4 years ago | I've reverted your change to add a dash to the end of "name=Bevco" to "fix a conflict". This is not a good change. This map feature wasn't even using the brand tag, but if it was it would have been a valid use of that tag. "Bevco" is a registered business name in Australia and the name of this drinks manufacturer as advertised out front of the business premises. I've also made other improvements to the tagging of this site. |
103560229 | about 4 years ago | You've changed the bus parking at Venman NP's trailhead to include access=yes, however on the ground it is specifically signed as bus parking. I added the bus=yes and motor_vehicle=no access tags a few years ago to reflect this, I don't think access=yes makes sense. |
102867708 | over 4 years ago | I've partially reverted this changeset. You've accidentally modified the place node for Caloundra and changed it to parking. Tip: check out the summary of your changes on the left in iD before you upload. |
102365854 | over 4 years ago | Isn't there a painted dashed line between the 2 roundabouts, so lane_markings=no isn't applicable here? |
