89220282 | almost 5 years ago | Thanks for the note. I have now updated the boundary to match the most recent Tiger data, which I don't know if it is correct or not either, but it is authoritative. Many of the boundary members have a source tag of local, but I don't know what that means. New changeset: 89516909 |
81061418 | about 5 years ago | Could you please be a bit more specific with your changeset comment? It helps to understand what changes were made when examining the history of objects. |
86046462 | about 5 years ago | No need to apologize! There are lots of "rules" (which are really bendable community standards), but the most important thing is try your best to map what is there, which you're doing. |
86046462 | about 5 years ago | Hello and welcome to mapping in openstreetmap. Thank you for your contributions to the map. Your edits are excellent with one exception. You have added names to some objects that appear to be descriptions, e.g. Greenbrier Park Tennis Court. As a community standard, we do not add names to objects unless there is a specific name for the object that can be seen on the ground. So if there is a name plaque on the courts (or any other such object), we will name it. Otherwise, its location within the park should suffice. Thanks again for mapping and feel free to ask any questions. |
85858864 | about 5 years ago | Can you please give a more descriptive changeset description? A short sentence like: "Adding details to golf course" would be very helpful. |
85352954 | about 5 years ago | Thank you for editing the map! Can you please use more informative changeset comments? It makes it easier to understand what kind of mapping you're doing. A single sentence like, "Adding details to golf course" would suffice! |
85841212 | about 5 years ago | Hi, This is looking really good for your first edits in OSM, thank you for participating! If you have any questions about mapping, feel free to message me directly in OSM or you can join the Slack community for OSM at https://slack.openstreetmap.us/ One quick recommendation: you used the default Bing imagery, which is a great, but you may have better luck with the Mapbox Satellite imagery which, for Durham is pretty recent and has the advantage of being taken when the leaves were off. To switch imagery, click on the layers button on the far right. |
84148734 | over 5 years ago | Nice, thanks for the link |
84148734 | over 5 years ago | Wow, that was fast! |
83423506 | over 5 years ago | Thanks for editing the map! |

82946313 | over 5 years ago | Good job on your first edit! |
80599948 | over 5 years ago | Love these edits. Was running using 1 month old maps and was going to correct Cedar Ridge Trail, but didn't need to! Thanks |
81524848 | over 5 years ago | I'm removing this node that appears as "WE HAVE A WINDOW" There is no military area and this does not appear to represent a real object. |
80074749 | over 5 years ago | No, it's not being discussed anywhere. I think that someone had a pretty good set of bus stops before the recent changes, so we need to remove ones that are no longer served (which are listed on the GoDurham page: https://godurhamtransit.org/service-changes ) and add some new ones, which I don't think are listed anywhere. There is a slack discussion group for triangle mapping issues here: https://osmus.slack.com/archives/CDW5X3RRD |
80074749 | over 5 years ago | Now we just need to update bus stops ... |
79617284 | over 5 years ago | Nice catch. I was trying to edit some sidewalks that I had recently edited and wasn't careful and didn't realize someone else had added a bunch of sidewalk=no tags (to motorways go figure). Did you revert all the changes? I just tried to revert the changeset and couldn't as there were many conflicts. |
78482975 | over 5 years ago | I just wanted to say thanks for all your edits in Durham Co. |
70282109 | over 5 years ago | I don't remember! I think it may have been a preset in the editor, so I used it. I'll change it. |
76615930 | over 5 years ago | Thanks for adding to the map! One standard that is used in mapping roads is that we like them to connect to other roads incase we want to use them for drawing routes. Here, I would recommend adding connections between the driveways you've drawn and the two residential roads nearby. |
