55981040 | over 7 years ago | This track has been removed and there is currently construction to expand the soccer field and stadium. Be careful when using aerial imagery as it is frequently not up to date. |
54521801 | over 7 years ago | Just wanted to say thanks for some really good edits-- Welcome to OSM! |
54461785 | over 7 years ago | Thanks for contributing to OSM! Adding trails is a great way to make the map better. It looks like you may have just copied a gps trace that was not very precise. In this case, it may be preferable to use the trace as a guide and draw a more simple line for the path. Right now it looks like the trail is very jagged and runs almost on top of itself. I apologize if this comes off as patronizing, but I wanted to share some of my experience. |

48959155 | about 8 years ago | Are these real roads? Some of them appear to show up on aerial images, but others do not. If they are paths or trails, please correctly tag them as highway:footpath or some other appropriate tag |
48959315 | about 8 years ago | Did you mean to add this? If not please delete it. If you want to play around with mapping there is http://opengeofiction.net/#map=5/51.500/-0.100 |
48897759 | about 8 years ago | It looks like the location has moved a lot, you're probably better off just creating a new node at the new location. |
48732232 | about 8 years ago | Thanks for your help in fixing Tiger import. However, please be careful in changing highway classification. Orange Grove Road here is probably better classified as a tertiary highway. It is a state maintained road that is used for commuting to and from Hillsborough and smaller outlying communities. These classification decisions are definitely hard here, but I would say if there is a tiger_name_base with State Road XXX and the road is paved and runs continuously for several miles, it probably is best as tertiary. You may also consider adding SR XXX for unsigned_ref |
47949050 | over 8 years ago | Yes that is annoying, there are also a lot of names that are descriptions in the RST area. |
46942366 | over 8 years ago | Thanks for helping with the map! |
46731568 | over 8 years ago | No problem, and thanks for responding. I normally would have waited for a response, before reverted changes but there have been a lot of people who never respond to comments. If you have any questions about mapping, please feel free to ask! |
46731568 | over 8 years ago | First, thanks for helping with the map. I'm curious why you changed all the tracks in Duke Forest into paths? Many of them fit the description of tracks perfectly: osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dtrack i.e. they are two track roads for forestry. |
46340533 | over 8 years ago | Welcome to OSM! If you have any questions how to map, please ask. |
46248524 | over 8 years ago | This is some really good mapping. A few quick suggestions. 1. It is important to connect sidewalks to streets so that routing can be certain to know that there is a physical connection between streets and sidewalks. 2. Putting the description of an object as the name is frowned upon. If you want to note that a footway is a sidewalk, you can add a tag footway=sidewalk. Names should be reserved for formal names. |
45479621 | over 8 years ago | Is this a park, or is it a residential area. If the latter, it would be better tagged as landuse=residential, rather than leisure=park |
45453375 | over 8 years ago | Thanks for a great first edit and welcome to openstreetmap! |
45447988 | over 8 years ago | Thank you for updating the map. I did a little bit of correcting of your tagging here. This is not a park, but rather a basketball court. |
