Changeset When Comment

I reverted this changeset now. Still not sure how to solve it.

151130960 about 1 year ago

It's more related to universities which have many buildings across a larger area. There is a discussion in https://github.com/osm-search/Nominatim/discussions/3418#discussioncomment-9379380 (where I argue the same: there's already a boundary=site in another relation and this one should probably be a multipolygon again). I have no objection to revert.

For node 147621678, is "2112206" another type of identifier? It's not a postcode, those would be in the 523xx range around this area.

OSM relation 130935 already has the NUTS code PL9, and it's the same boundary. Is another relation really needed?

Can you review the postcode of this place? I think it's this business https://ratings.food.gov.uk/business/774466 (All data is from Food Hygiene Ratings Scheme Data is released under the Open Government Licence (v3) so afaik it's usable for OSM).

Hello. Can you explain why osm.org/way/1238633639 has the URL of a another provider as the name? Is data copied from other map providers?

Can you review the postcode of osm.org/way/294668651 again? On https://www.coop.se/butiker-erbjudanden/coop/coop-lesjofors/ clicking "Om butiken" I see the address is "Bergslagsgatan 70, 68260 Lesjöfors"
Of course they might have the wrong postcode on their website, that happens, too.

Great, I was just surprised because usually it would be many keystrokes. I'm looking after wrong data in addr:postcode and it came up in one of my reports. Happy mapping

What happened to osm.org/node/11817888797 ? All values are empty (dots). Is that somewhat automated?

Is 2082900 a different kind of code? Postcode of nearby Cedar Rapids is in 55xxx range

I see you have the rare combination of speaking English, Turkish and Japanese. The "〒" sign in postcodes is only used in Japan. I have removed them today. Happy mapping, thanks you for your contributions.

Can you check the house number of the Southtown (West) shopping mall. On their website it lists a couple of shops within and from what I see the shops have house number 148.

For osm.org/way/973025001 what does boundary=Emergency mean? It looks like the boundary of a neighborhood or suburb?

146281276 over 1 year ago

Thank a lot! The https://nominatim.org/qa/ tool uses "(LV-)?(dddd)" and I didn't notice the Lv->LV error. I checked with Overpass API now and indeed the whole country used the prefix, I'll get the regular expression updated.

I do like your verbose messages. A lot of OSM mappers just write "update" or "I created a place" which gets boring reading 100 times.

The restaurant's address in in India. The map shows the place in the United States. Are you sure you have local knowledge?

Thanks a lot! I've added the postcode now.

145588023 over 1 year ago

Hi Powdermilkman. Thank you for adding the address. Do you happen to know the correct postcode (zip code) for this building? 9844 has only 4 numbers, it should be 5.

Thanks for the feedback. I had a look of many noname tags around the world and it seems to be a common mistake. I'm working on a validator plugin for the iD editor to show a warning when both tags are set. It's not a fix but will make editing easier in the future.

144553284 over 1 year ago

I think the no_name tag is used wrong here. It's a common typo, should be noname. osm.wiki/Tag:noname%3Dyes It indicates a place definitely has no name instead of the name is unknown. Since a name:ar is present it has a name, doesn't it?
