Everyone calls me napo.
Only official documents insist on calling me Maurizio Napolitano.
-
I live in Trento, Italy — but I map wherever there’s something missing: a forgotten trail, a bus stop that doesn’t exist yet on the map, or a bicycle parking spot that deserves to be noticed.
-
I believe in digital commons and the power of communities. That’s why I contribute actively to OpenStreetMap — both as a mapper and as a board member of the OpenStreetMap Foundation.
-
I use OSM in my research projects, I teach it, and I often get to talk about it in public: at conferences, on the radio, in newspapers, on TV… and yes, I’ve even been on three TEDx stages (Trento, Siena, and Potenza )
-
I lead the Digital Commons Lab at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, where we explore how (open) data can help improve cities, communities, and relationships between people and places.
-
I’m always open to collaborations, new ideas, shared projects. If you think OSM can make a difference in what you’re doing — get in touch!
