The import data for county boundaries is highly inaccurate. Most of the lines are where they're not. I realized this after I found a goof that I made correcting one boundary, forcing me to correct all around Saratoga County. The lines divinging Albany and Saratoga from Rensselaer say Franklin County. I also removed a multi for the supposed Town of East Glenville. There is no such town, only a hamlet withing the greater Town of Glenville, which is bounded by Amsterdam to the West, Charlton and Ballston to the North, Clifton Park to the East, and Niskayuna/Schenectady/Scotia/Rotterdam to the south.

It's fun finding these errors and correcting them :)

Let me get this straight for American roads:

Motorway: Interstates and other Freeway/Expressway grade roads
Trunk: Divided highways with graded and level intersections (ex: parkways in NY, NY 12 north to S of Boonville, NY 840 in NY Mills, the old NY 17, maybe 5 between Amsterdam city line to NY 103??)
Primary: US Highways, and I believe State highways with high levels of importance (ex: US 9, US 20, possibly NY 5, NY 7??)
Secondary: Most State highways
Tertiary: County highways
Residential: Most town-maintained roads

Correct?

Why is Firefox displaying so many of the not found images? I have dumped recent cache data a few times already and they still appear. These are the images that say "more osm coming soon".

Slowly getting it fixed. The import data is lousy. I am making all county roads and state reference routes (9##x routes) tertiary. So far, this has been fun and tedious all at the same time. The fun part is finding all that are reference or county highways. Right now, I am working on Schenectady, Fulton, and Montgomery counties. Unfortunately, the county highway listings on empirestateroads.com doesn't include Fulton and Montgomery counties.

Hello all! I have only been signed up for this for a day, and I've been coming across a lot of stuff I've needed to fix for the Captial Region of NY. Most of what I had been doing were fixing the entries for county roads. I came across gross errors while fixing county route alignments in the Town of Queensbury. I do not know how many other areas have very erroneous locations for road data. I have started fixing many of the streets in the West Glens Falls area, if anyone would like to help out, that would be great!

I wouldn't like to see someone use this service get bad directions because the roads were misaligned. Thanks!
