Changeset When Comment

Ok thanks! Amazon (#amap) added them likely because they were necessary to deliver a package, so I'll re-add them but mark them as private so that any decent GPS app will not suggest using it. (We shouldn't delete things that exist, because they'll just be treated as missing and re-added later, rather we can just tag them appropriately to match reality.)

Is there any way of accessing the MiLK trail from the west side? Maybe Kestrel Hill Ln or Windsor Place or Grandview Dr? Or is it just a single entrance loop off Fair Oaks Dr?

Hi there! Thanks for your contributions. I see you modified the city limits here, were you using an authoritative source for that boundary or just following the forest?

Hiya thanks for your contributions! In this changeset it looks like you adjusted the boundaries of the OSU forest, but also modified the city limits (Corvallis administrative boundary) in the process. Was this intentional?

Just to confirm, when you deleted these driveways was it because you were physically there and know there is no passable road here? Usually #amap is pretty okay about noting roads where they exist. If you just think people shouldn't walk or drive down the path, but a path does exist, then there's other ways of tagging that.

Thanks again for your contributions!

It looks like you did a bunch of good work mapping a new trail! I think I see the problem and I'll take care of it. Here's the correct border in red according to the newest TIGER census data, which means the city border hasn't been correct in a while ;) no worries!

In the future to prevent this just double check the list of changed things before you hit upload, and double-check what all is attached to stuff like landuses and roads at the edge of town cuz sometimes people (misguidedly?) merge them with administrative boundaries. Happy mapping!

I'm having trouble rewinding time to see exactly how the Corvallis border looked before, but some cached map tiles give us a hint: https://imgur.com/a/SYL32XA

I didn't change it back, maybe you can give an attempt. I like to use osmcha for viewing changesets (linked above) but you can also use this: https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-change-viz?c=110646759#19/44.58794/-123.31089 the deleted node was 454170749

Hey there, it looks like you edited the city border for Corvallis. Was this intentional?

Thanks for your fixes today!

Heya! Osmose is whiny because relation 12657272 has only way 937890017 as outer with no inner, and a lot of these relation polygons are really just simple building parts that may not even be multipolygons in the first place. Any thoughts? I almost removed all the relations here but then I realized it'd be a major undertaking on mobile and I should ask you first.

Hi there, thanks for your contributions! Please only tag things as parking_aisle when it's an aisle solely for the purpose of parking in between one or more service roads, like you find in large lots outside "big box" stores. The main route into a parking lot, and main approach to a business, should just be a plain old service road.

Thanks again!

Hi there, North East Salem is not the name of a city.

(The other reason to keep each changeset small is because many contributors like to monitor when changes are made in their area; this change basically notified everyone in between the equator and north pole, so it's just nice to avoid that.)

Hiya! Thanks for contributing to openstreetmap. FYI building=pavilion is weirdly used for European sport clubhouses / lockers. If this is a gazebo, you probably want to edit this to be amenity=shelter -- if it's for picnicking, you might add shelter_type=picnic_shelter as well. All this info can be found at wiki.openstreetmap.org . Thanks again!

Here you go. It's a moot point though as the original author removed the relation.

heya according to the wiki, collecting related-category but physically-separate objects in a relation isn't very kosher on OSM: apparently if people want to know about historic districts in salem they should just do a query for historic=district. what do you think about possibly removing this relation, does it have a use?

Hiya it looks like you removed Riverside Inn from the building way and put it into a new POI node instead. Is there a reason for this? Generally if there is only one POI node inside of a building the two should be merged. Also the changeset comment says "add grass" but there doesn't seem to be any grass involved in this changeset...

I know it's a looooong time ago but do you have any objection to me removing names/descriptions from drive-thrus and driveways? It "looks" like there are roads named stuff like Dairy Queen Drive-thru and Capitol Market (Road) but they're really just slightly overzealous naming.
