New to OpenStreetMap | Great stuff. The Manchester area could do with a lot of help. |
Let’s rid the web of comments like this. | Ironically though when we switch to ODBL most of Weybridge will be wiped out. |
Introducing Team Surrey | Great initiative. |
Test | Looks like you've succeeded. |

Offer of editing assistance | Ouch, hope it wasn't a mapping-related accident. This does sound like a good excuse for some armchair mapping from the bing imagery and OS data sources. If you don't like mapping places you don't know, you could always use these data sources to add more detail to your area (have you got all pedestrian crossings, number of lanes in major roads, footway cut-throughs, turning circles, speed bumps, buildings?). Just make sure you're not working on top of non-odbl tainted data as would be a waste of time. Get well soon. robert. |

Ideascale for OSM | "information about dissenting opinions from the majority view (aka fork)," Hahahaha oh man you make me laugh. |
OSM/OSMF has become a farce | "I have never known an organisation to be so ungrateful to people who give their free time and effort to an "open project" particularly in the case of being to unable contact people to "change their ways". OSM should be thankful for their contribution in the first place." OSM is not google. You are not giving them your data with no return. It's your data. How much have you _used_ openstreetmap? Do you thank the OSMF every time you put load on their servers. Just how grateful are you to the (unpaid) people who keep the various systems running, and give up their free time to try and defend the project from complex legal issues. There are too many openstreetmappers with a really bad attitude that I just cannot understand and I'm not sorry to lose them. Goodbye. |

Getting railway tunnels (almost) right | I think using your phone to video the journey sounds like a good idea. I'm sure you could adapt one of those windscreen sucker things used by people who want to use their phones for navigation. |
Google Doc Summit 2011 | Good to be reminded that the Google octopus has good tentacles too. Just wish they'd stop trying to hijack OSM's potential userbase for their (and no-one else's) benefit. |

Plane table application? | ||
Comment for Changeset: 9243868 | "I hope the incomplete comment won't get the changes rejected." We're not like that. The project is as much yours as it is anyone else's. (sort of) |

Anniversary Party last weekend | It's a cover-up, chriscf. |
Anniversary Party last weekend | What about the geranium conversation? |
EDITING AT MUHALITANI | Excellent. Path connections are _very_ important. |
Continuation with Preparation of map for Tandale ward | This is really great stuff :) |
MAP UPDATING NDANI YA TANDALE | Nice! |
Copying from OS Locator | Contentious issue. Some of us actually want to, you know, _use_ the map. And sourcing street names from Locator is a way of quickly getting areas actually usable for something. |
Experience | This is insane. What mapping method were you using/what equipment were you carrying? |
Crunch Time | This nearmap issue is nonsense. Nearmap stuff will not need to be deleted from OpenStreetMap on the license switch. Whoever told you so is being disingenuous. |
ODBL in the real world... | You mean I'm partially responsible for de-JohnSmith-ing our community? *sniff* you've made me so happy. |
