OS Locator update 201411 | Apparently he just has code to turn it into .osm files. Here: https://github.com/derickr/osm-tools/tree/master/musical-chairs-to-garmin Conversion to gpx wouldn’t be a difficult hack. Good beginner project. |

OS Locator update 201411 | Ahoy there James, I do produce a gzipped csv of the results (osm.wiki/OS_Locator_Musical_Chairs#Can_I_have_a_dump_of_the_data.3F) which I know Derick Rethans (osm.org/user/Derick%20Rethans) for one uses to produce something like a GPX for his Garmin. Knowing him he has some php script for doing it. |

First thoughts | No harm in starting small. Don’t worry too much about the “specifications” on the wiki - a lot of the time that stuff is wishful thinking by a bunch of anally retentive wikifiddlers. |

OpenStreetMap Carto v2.22.0 | (When) is it live rendering on osm.org? |

5 dreams/ proposals for OSM headquarters (please comment) | Remember, Tomasz, that a lot of things (most things that aren’t to do with actually editing maps) on osm.org are essentially a “demo”. If “employers need changes”, they are free to implement themselves and make them part of their services. OSM itself doesn’t have (and almost certainly never will have) the capacity to be a true google-maps-alike. If an “employer” finds e.g. the default mapnik style to be inhibiting them, it’s probably a sign that they’ve been piggybacking on the (nonprofit) OSM infrastructure for providing their services for too long. |

Oh TIGER... | Interesting thing is that it is actually topologically correct. |

OS Locator update 201405 | That’s a good idea - I might add that tile option when I get round to it. |

Spring Hike in Nackareservat - Sunday 20-04-14 | That is http://www.gpsies.com |

Spring Hike in Nackareservat - Sunday 20-04-14 | You can of course do that sort of thing using openstreetmap as a base map, but that’s not what OSM is really designed for. Edits you make to the map are global, visible to & affecting everybody, and as such we tend to only map actual real physical things, and not just things that are only relevant to us personally. You might get better luck using tools such as gpsies.com’s track creator, which uses openstreetmap. |

OpenStreetMap Isn't All That Open, Let's Change That and Drop Share-Alike | (and just when I was starting to get license debate withdrawal) |

OpenStreetMap Isn't All That Open, Let's Change That and Drop Share-Alike | It’s not a good approach to start your post with the title invoking the whole “non-share-alike is more open” thing, which is easily disprovable. Share-alike rules are there to ensure things remain free. |
