Changeset When Comment

I'd keep the amenity=shelter, possibly changing it to a polygon. There are a places where the shelter and the bus stop are sufficiently distant from each other to justify it, particularly with the high resolution imagery we have in London.

If the path is within the school grounds, it should probably be bicycle=private rather than permissive, in line with foot=private.

Using separate there really ought to be in the wiki and StreetComplete. I'd start an RFC, but I'm insufficiently masochistic.

With buildings tagged with building:colour=light_brown, would you have any objection to me replacing that with #b5651d, or another hex value? I don't think light_brown is in the current CSS spec.

No problem.

Taken in isolation, they used a reasonably plausible story. It was probably shared on a PG cheat channel, e.g. "how to stop mappers immediately reverting the fake park you've added in your mum's back garden." Friends who play inform me that this method of cheating no longer works.

I wonder if it's possible to search changeset comments for the text in their reply. Assuming it's been copied and pasted verbatim, that could yield a few more "parks" to review with extreme prejudice.

I'm not sure I understand the reason for this edit. Continuity with what?

The Bing Streetside imagery is probably a few years old, but it appears to be a bungalow (building:levels=1) in that.

Was the house number incorrect?

No evidence from aerial imagery. Tag removed.

44605137 about 2 years ago

No, it doesn't exit. Never did, since it clearly doesn't exist in Bing's aerial imagery even 6 years later.

It's just a rather sad attempt to cheat at Pokémon Go.

Reverted in osm.org/changeset/138174457

Adding micro parks to OSM doesn't work for cheating at Pokémon Go any more, so this bit of vandalism was rather pointless. It's also been reverted.

No need for you to do anything here - another user has already edited it.

Welcome to OpenStreetMap and thanks for spotting this/updating the map. It can take a while for these changes to propagate to routing software, sometimes of the order of weeks.

It might work a little better if you add the gate as a node (point) as close to where it is actually located, tagged with:
barrier=gate + access=private + locked=yes

Removing the highway=service tag unfortunately means that OSM now thinks it has a very long gate with a lot of access tags.

If you'd like any help with this, please let me know.

Thanks. I'm restoring the remaining tags unintentionally deleted by this new user on other objects in Croydon at the moment.

138059109 about 2 years ago

Please don't remove tags you don't understand. Centrale has not ceased to be a shop=mall or building=retail.

138058266 about 2 years ago

Please stop removing non-building tags from buildings.

Take w161279606: you don't need to misuse the name=* tag by appending the description "(Multilevel Garage Parking)". That is what the tags amenity=parking + parking=multi-storey were *for*.

Data consumers use tag values to determine what a map feature is. They don't parse the name=* tag tag for this, as they expect it to contain the name and *only* the name of the feature.

Removing tags without understanding their function is profoundly unhelpful.

Has Fairfield Halls suddenly closed? If not, why remove the amenity=theatre tag?

If Croydon Magistrate's Court has suddenly closed, please could you let HM Courts and Tribunals Service know, as they seem to think it's still open?

Welcome to OpenStreetMap. I'm afraid that your edit dragged several nodes on buildings and roads quite a way out of position.

Although I'm not familiar with the Rapid editor, I'd be happy to help you with the changes you were trying to make, if I can.

No harm done, I've reverted your changes in osm.org/changeset/138035798
