It caught my eye originally because some of the split roads lacked name tags.

This is a very simple mini roundabout with no split roads or proper islands, so I felt it was more accurately mapped like this.

Not sure exactly what the differences between triangulation,fixed_point or benchmark are! Here's a couple of photos of the concrete pillar from when I surveyed it last year: https://goo.gl/photos/UNGpNuy3LUAc8Zcv8 and https://goo.gl/photos/PEoEjC1hNumkykGu6

In this case I got the first ref directly from the timetable poster (see https://goo.gl/photos/HqAntjEF5nEC9rdX7). The ref on the stop on the other side was only in short form, but I tried converting it to the long form (they're only 1 digit separate) and found that it appeared to be correct.
The long ref appears to be an 'Atco Code' which forms part of the NaPTAN dataset - see osm.wiki/NaPTAN

I did wonder about the refs as well. If you google the longer ref (e.g. 639007452) you get a lot of results for the specific bus stop, so it seems correct. I suspect the first part of the longer ref is a type of area code, and the second part is the stop specific code. I think the shorter code that appears on the sign is just an abbreviated version of the long one.

Thanks! :)

Hi, the roads that you have connected in this changeset are actually separated by a 6ft drop and a wall (already mapped). You cannot navigate between them. Please can you revert this change and be more careful while remote mapping. Thanks!

Hi, the original tagging of man_made=groyne was correct. Please see the wiki pages (osm.wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dgroyne and osm.wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dbreakwater) - these are definitely groynes.

Fair enough - removed in osm.org/changeset/33422734

Hi, looking back I probably read the elevation at trigpointing uk. However, this should be ok for usage: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-gb/2008-January/006150.html
The name is from knowledge and the location is approximated from walking up there!

The hotel might be better tagged as name=Crowne Plaza, building=construction, construction=hotel

From what I saw walking past and the artist's impressions on the hoardings, it seems like they are demolishing/rebuilding the area that I have marked, and then incorporating the taller buildings to the SE into a new student housing project.

Hi there, some of the buildings in this edit have been mapped on top of the road. I am not familiar with the area - does the road pass through the buildings as a tunnel? Please could you correct this by tagging the road as a tunnel where it passes through the building, or by realigning the building and road. Thanks!

Hi, just got round to looking at this change - from memory, there is no roundabout bypass here? Although there is a clear left turn lane painted, you still have to look for traffic coming from the right and so this shouldn't be tagged as a separate way?

The fenced off section is only a 1m strip of pavement immediately adjacent to the road (although one of the shared use sign posts is inside the fenced area, causing confusion).
The route that you can actually follow is as mapped - roughly parallel to the road.

Thanks for tidying that up. The southwards route definitely goes via the pavement route, there are shared use signs and NCN signs. Helpfully, ACC have fenced off what appears to be the start of the shared use bit, but further down as you cross Nelson St and West North street there are more signs.

No, it's a fair point and good to get feedback! I distinctly remember being less than 100% happy with the alignment of everything, but also needing to stop messing around with OSM and go to bed...
I've gone back in and more accurately aligned the buildings and road with the imagery

Probably just me mixing up natural=grassland and landuse=grass in my head, have fixed now!

Hi, this was intended as an initial step, so that later on I can go survey the house numbers, split up the terraces and fill the addresses in. While the shapes may end up being a loose approximation, improving them without better aerial imagery would not be easy, and I think having a loose representation is better than nothing at all?

Yeah sorry my bad, I tend to get distracted and forget to upload between sections. Will try to remember!
