130928385 | almost 2 years ago | Hi Tyler, please make sure not to upload abbreviated street names to OSM :) |
141485236 | almost 2 years ago | Hi nitemoon, Please make sure to select the building and press q after you draw it, it squares the building. :) |
141072234 | almost 2 years ago | A Facebook group doesn't have the authority to completely ignore OSM guidelines. |
141072234 | almost 2 years ago | Could you be more specific as to how you are planning on fixing these low quality imports and when you're planning to do so? In the future when doing huge imports like these you should not only check the data quality before uploading, but also make a wiki page so people can find more information about the purpose and status of the import. |
139987763 | almost 2 years ago | Hi aselvadeasfalto, this changeset has left quite a lot of orphan nodes. Are you planning on finishing this import? |
141310218 | almost 2 years ago | My bad! Thanks for pointing that out :) I've reverted my changeset

141072234 | almost 2 years ago | You really shouldn't be submitting unfinished data to OpenStreetMap, especially not when you know that said data is low quality. It's up to you to process and review the data before it's uploaded, not afterwards. The data you've been uploading is practically worthless, it can't be used for anything because it's highly inaccurate, so uploading it before reviewing has no benefits to either the OSM community or OSM users. In fact I'd say the data you've been uploading is actually harmful, it's full of buildings crossing highways and other buildings. |
141072234 | almost 2 years ago | Hey Superadlen, I've noticed you've been adding a large amount of buildings, seemingly AI generated. A large amount, some would say the majority of these buildings are too low quality to be on OSM. AI generated buildings should not be imported without thorough checking and fixing which has not been done in your case. Many of these buildings don't even exist which you would have noticed had you checked your changeset before uploading. Some examples of low quality buildings
On top of that some of your changesets have resulted in large amounts of orphan nodes being uploaded, filling the database with unnecessary data.

141003393 | almost 2 years ago | Gotchu, thanks for pointing it out :) I fixed my mistake, you can find my changeset [here](osm.org/changeset/141039968). |
141003393 | almost 2 years ago | Hi Taya, Is this also applicable for buildings that contain both an apartment an a business? I don't know for sure but I believe the ground floor of this shop is used as a business and the other floors are a home. |
140825964 | almost 2 years ago | Hi jr conlin, welcome to OpenStreetMap! You forgot to add a colon in the opening hours, please always make sure to double check your edits to avoid uploading mistakes. I fixed the opening hours tag formatting, you can find my changeset here. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! :) |
140836657 | almost 2 years ago | Hi Stileo, I was just looking over some of your edits and wanted to make a few suggestions. Please make sure that any crossings you create are connected to the roads they cross, and connect them to sidewalks on each end. Please also try not to make sidewalks cross other features such as buildings. If a sidewalk does actually go under a building iD will give you a suggestion to mark it as lower. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! |
140733718 | almost 2 years ago | Hi montaneman! The trail still exists, and should thus be mapped on OSM. To signify that the path is no longer accessible to the public I've added the access=no tag. You can find my changeset here.
You can find more info about the access=no tag here.
I've reverted your changeset, you can find my revert here.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions! |
140746123 | almost 2 years ago | Hi retypepassword, welcome to OpenStreetMap! A node already exists for Babes Ice Cream, if you want to update the business info please modify the already existing node. You can find the node here.
I've reverted this changeset, you can find my revert here.

140499434 | almost 2 years ago | I just don't see a benefit to removing detail unless it's so excessive that it becomes entirely useless (buildings with huge node counts as a result of bad imports for example). If someone feels that a certain amount of detail is unnecessary they can choose to compress the data they use, or remove certain parts of it outright. OSM is supposed to contain detailed and accurate data, not simplified data. Also trees render in [StreetsGL](https://streets.gl/#37.80270,-122.41233,39.00,0.00,362.23) which I think is really cool. I do want to reiterate that if you see an unmapped tree row I think it's fine to map it as a way, but I think the added detail of individual trees is a better alternative. |
79205949 | almost 2 years ago | hey oba510, the pedestrian street in Dogpatch Arts Plaza cuts through the sculpture in the middle of the plaza. I thought it might be time to delete it because there's already a pedestrian area marked and the street no longer exists. I'd like to hear your opinion first since you were the last person to edit the street. :) |
140499434 | almost 2 years ago | Mapping individual trees in a forest is far more redundant than mapping them in a city. If such a situation happened I would be hesitant to remove them myself but if someone else decided to do so I wouldn't contest it. Personally I think the best option would be to keep the mapped trees and also draw a forest area around them. |
140499434 | almost 2 years ago | I think it's fine to map a tree row as a way if there aren't already trees mapped, but by removing already mapped trees and replacing them with a tree row you're removing detail from the map. |
140498727 | almost 2 years ago | Hi kolivere, the amount of nodes on this object were not excessive. Removing detail poses little to no benefit in this situation. Please make sure to only simplify objects that have an excessive amount of nodes node. A good example of an feature with too many nodes is this small building in California, which contained 339 nodes.
I've reverted your changeset
