Excellent - so document that in the wiki so it can be applied with consistency

Its clear to me that there is some sort of 'exception' that seems to occur in this area and has been agreed to by the local 'community'. There are lots of things that OSM does differently to other standards (be they postal addresses standards, utilities etc) so what folks are asking is that somewhere this is documented, preferably in the wiki link I posted earlier. If it only occurs in Calgary then make that clear. If its also in other areas then spell that out so we all benefit from the communities agreed standard that differs from the OSM norm.

You might like to edit the Canada Tagging Guidelines to reflect change so there is no further issues ... if the community has changed from the suggestion in the wiki.

Hi 8046Bzytotn - it would be much appreciated if your changeset comments were a bit more descriptive about what you actually edited. Cheers

Its the norm in OSM to spell out full street names including prefix/suffix. I will see if I can find the wiki entry where this is spelt out. There are lots of things that are different in OSM and it takes a while to get the hang of all the subtleties.

Hi Toodletoon - you appear to have deleted heaps of retail buildings and then redrawn as buildings=yes whilst at the same time combining some of the old building footprints. This is not the way it should be done. When you delete an object all its history is lost. You should instead edit existing objects, even if this takes longer to accomplish. You also seem to have bulk moved a lot of objects - was this intentional and how did you determine the correct alignment between the different imageries? I assume you are a local to Ulverstone?

Hi Folks - is the "Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority nomenclature for building names" open data? If its not open data then its likely we cant use the database/document as a source for place names.

Hi folks FYI - Phone numbers in Australia should be added to OSM according to the following format with the country code
+61 x xxxx xxxx, (+61 xxx xxx xxx for mobiles) or use the phone:AU key if a 1300 or 1800 number.
For freecall numbers that work whilst overseas (ie 13 13 13) use +61 XX XX XX
as per the wiki guidelines osm.wiki/Australian_Tagging_Guidelines/Australian_features - I have just updated a recent addition that you made to OSM – Cheers

To get the + symbol on a mobile device numeric keypad I reckon you will need to do a LONG press on the zero.
