Notes can be set by anyone and do not reflect the opinion of any organization. And I don't say anything against the use of key source:width but only if there are deviations from the source value. If you want to make sure that your once entered statement remains correct I recommend a permanent check for change, but not the constant repetition of values.
By the way, the default key for the largest measured width is maxwidth (according to Taginfo just under 47,000 instead of width:max with 53 mentions). But I can see that you at least recognize you typo in the number.
