More north coast roads done

Posted by wamble on 14 January 2009 in English.

I've finished adding data for the GPS traces I made over Christmas, near Mullumbimby. The forest road to Uki now is shown, as are more streets and roads on the west of Mullum, and McAuley's Lane on the south east.

The data from my cycle trip south is also entered, from Lismore along the Kyogle Road and Naughtons Gap Road. There's some tidy-up required there - the street names at each end of the section in Lismore and Casino, and the exact location of the Railway Bridge may not be as shown, but I'm in Sydney now, so it'll have to wait until next Christmas or until someone else can fix it. It's hard to concentrate on making maps when dehydration sets in, so I plead extenuating circumstances in not getting it correct this time around :)

There's also a heap of creek crossings along Upper Wilson's Creek Road and along Main Arm Road that I didn't get around to marking. The more I look at the little I've done, the more I wish I had more time around that area to do a proper job.

More mullumbimby data

Posted by wamble on 11 January 2009 in English.

I've added some of the GPS traces I've taken from driving around Mullumbimby over Christmas. McAuleys Lane has been added, and I've noticed that the old Tunnel Road (known as Coolamon Scenic Drive) north of Mullum to the pacific highway is incorrect.

I'll have too fix that as well as tracing over upper Wilson's Creek road, Mullum Creek road and Main Arm road through to Uki

Mullumbimby traces have been mapped

Posted by wamble on 28 January 2008 in English.

The traces taken around Mullumbimby, and down through Rosebank, Goonengerry, Binna Burra, Federal and Eltham have been mapped. Some of the traces around Eureka and Federal were taken with my Edge 301 on the cycle trip north, and so are not as accurate as the rest. The roads really should be driven over again.

Most of the roads have only been driven one way, and only once, so more traces would be useful. That won't happen (by me) until next Christmas, but maybe Rosscoe can oblige :)
